wich phone should i buy, nokia 6500 classic or nokia 6300..
I'm not a mp3 or camera freak!
But i want the phone with best sound!
Is the battery so terrible as i have read in this forum??? is it the same with 6500c???
The nokia 6300 costs 140 euro and the nokia 6500 classic costs 200 euro..

When I receive calls it just says 'Incoming call' but the number or name doesnt come up. Anybody know how I change this?

This is truly a great phone, with great features and music.The only problem that I had was battery life... but it charged so fast that I forgot all about it. The design is a good one and the Phone is durable. thank you.
P.S. I only got this phone so I might be wrong *_*

I have the same problem you are having. My he... moreFor those complaining about the headset issue, if you're using a bluetooth headset or the stereo bluetooth headsets, keep in mind that phones come equipped with certain bluetooth profiles.
the bluetooth version is v2.0, and i see that it doesn't necessarily state that it is stereo bluetooth capable either. If you are using a bluetooth headset that is v1.2, those are not compatabile with this phone and creates the issue of disconnecting from your headset. so you may need to buy a new headset.

This well designed phone with a superb build and display is ideal for anyone who simply wants a device to make calls and text and listen to music or take the ocassional photo. And this device does this very well. That is how it was designed. For me, well, I want to more with my mobiles devices but for friend of mine it is ideal for his needs. Just a word of caution for UK's O2 pay and go users wishing to use the pre-installed Opera Mini browser or download the superb Opera Mini Version 4.1 on this handset. There appears to be issues relating to the configuration settings preventing Opera from loading.
Finally I repeat this is a great device for those wanting a straightforward quality option. Those wanting more should consider the outstanding Nokia 6120 Classic, an excellent Symbian S60 smartphone.

This is NOT a fone 4 noisy areas. And the speaker gives this interference noise all the time you are speaking. The pic quality is great tho and the music player is cool. Durable, and pocket friendly.

My firmware version is v6.01...
Please download the latest firmware for 6300 from www.nokia.com
Its the most stable as compared to all of its previous versions..

I have the same problem you are having. My headset worked for about 2 weeks on and off and then stopped working completely after that and I have had this phone for almost a year now.
This is probably the most controversial phone I ever came across. The majority of the posts I have read in forums across the internet shows owners complaining about the battery life. Fortunately for me I never had a problem with battery life and to be honest my battery life is very good but then I have the headset problem where the phone just doesn't pick it up at all. At one point I wondered if my headset went bad but that's not the case because it works perfectly in another phone. So if it's not one thing it's the next.
For new owners, if your phone came with verison 5.00 of the software then stick to it as this version is the most stable of them all.
This phone was a good concept but problematic firmware made it a very controversial model.

i like this phone.its screen too incredible, i mean super. but i have one problem.It began from yesterday. now i pair my headset to phone to listen music.But no resut.Music plays only on phone.Not in my ears. Why can somebody explain it ?

The pity of it all is the battery incompetence despite the beauty of the phone. A phone that uses a 2 GB memory should have been made like nokia 3110. The latter phone may not be that cosmetic but it is super with its BL 5C battery. Nokia should redesign model 6300 to use a specially strong battery. On the whole I am dedicated to Nokia products.
