This is actually a great handset. I have been using this 6300 for over a year now and it is really doing its job.. But too bad that it has already looked a bit overused. Well, you cannot blame me on that since i am really using it as a phone. I am a hard texter. I truly don't care if my office mates do criticize the camera quality as i didn't buy it as a main camera anyway. I have a dedicated digital camera to do that.. So in line with this, i am already planning to change this cuttie for the reason that it has already gone old. And that would be this coming June and i have seen the 3120 classic as a replacement. 3120c still got the 2 megapixel camera with the added blessing of a flash(the specifications given by this site on that phone lacks. At Nokia's official site and so with the other sites, it says that the 3120c got a flash) secondary VGA videocall camera, VGA video recorder at 15 fps, 24 MB internal phone memory, dual band 3G and quadband GSM network operating frequencies, a 2 inches TFT 16.7 million colors still in the 240x320 display resolution identical to this 6300, up to 4 GB of micro sd card slot expansion support and last but not the least is the Series 40 5th edition User Interface which truly proves as a good news for me since I am in loved with the user friendliness of this user interface.. What do you think people? Does the 3120c stands as a worthy replacement?. I really need suggestions. Only Series 40 handsets please as i never dreamed of owning a Series 60 phone. For what? For me to be worried about malwares? No way! I would never allow malware developers to benefit me! And i have already used a S60 for just about 30 minutes and i find it way TOO complicated by miles really. I just wanted a handset that provides an excellent ease of use. And i found the 3120c.. Any suggestions then please do let of know.. :)

HAVE now seen this handset in reality,,my goodness its slim,,cannot believe its so slim..This does look like a luxury phone and although only a dummy model feels cofortable in the hand...Getting it in under 3 weeks as its payday and can buy it on credit card for back up gaurantee but pay it back right away so it will cost the same ie no interest on credit card..really pleased i waited cause nothing as luxurious and slim has come out since its lauch and at this good price,,its only £69.99 at carfone with £10 top up on voda..I dont earn much so saved £20 over 4 months but for this its worth it as its only bit dearer than a budget model and cool looking,,great specs

thank you very much for your advice Original_Jamaican. now i am convinced that i should keep my v05.00 firmware. anyway, i've read in some websites that the latest version for the 6300 is now 6.02, although it's only available in some countries(?). and i've also learned in some websites that when the first digit of the version number is changed (i.e. 5 --> 6) it means that this is a brand new (rewrite) firmware. you might wanna try that new firmware. thank you very much for being such a big help for all of us. :)

                  To RONY:

If you can live with the low recording volume stick to version 5.00.

I sometimes miss version 5.00 and unfortunately I can't go back.

                  Let me tell you why...

I primarily upgraded to v5.50 because of the volume bug being fixed. At first the phone worked fine without any problems whatsoever but then in about 1 month or little less, some weird things started happening.

The first weird thing had to do with powering on the phone. The phone would start up fast up to the point where you see the hands shaking but after the hands disappears, it takes a loooong time before you can do anything like make a call or go to the menu. It takes roughly about 1 minute before the phone is ready to do anything.

Before I upgraded it took about 3 seconds for the phone to be fully booted after the hand shake...so 1 minutes ia a long wait.

In addition to that, sometimes for no reason the phone randomly restarts, it doesn't turn off, it just does a quick reboot. First you see the white screen for 1 minute and then it goes back to standby mode. I can live with that if I'm not using the phone for anything of importance BUT when it happens during a call I CAN'T live with that...because the call gets cut off once that happens!!!

I started doing some experimenting because I just couldn't understand why it took so long to start and why the random rebooting.

One day I decided to take out the memory card before turning on the phone and to my surprise the phone started up as fast as lightening. I decided to leave the memory card out of the phone and played around with it and it didn't restart at random. This worked perfectly for a few days. After that though, even with the memory card out it restarted randomly but NOT as much as when the memory card was in the phone. For example, if it randomly rebooted 20 times for the day with the memory card in the phone, with the memory card out it would randomly restart about 3 times or maybe 4.

Even so, once the memory card is out, the phone starts up fast up to this day.

So I guess v5.50 has a memory card bug.

RONY, whatever the case I advise you to stick with v5.00. It's INDEED the most stable firmware to date.

First of all if I'm to change my phone it will be another Nokia. I have learnt the hard way that Nokia is the ONLY way to go.
