phone not so great, features dont work and also ringtone keeps changing back to default ringtone. Got it today returning it asap. 1st and last nokia i will ever own

And regarding the ring volume, mine is also not loud enough as I would want it to be, I get missed calls when outdoor...

I charged my Nokia 6300 Saturday afternoon and today it is 5th day, it has only one green line (around 1/5th of the battery)and will probably need charging very soon.. Nevertheless, I usually get 4 full days with normal use. Very satisfied with this phone!

Somebody please help me!
I want to update my firmware. To do so i have to backup everything important. I want to know how to take backups of my calendar entries and my contacts. And how to put them back to my phone. Please somebody give me a proper answer.

i tried to update my firmware of my phone. But before that i was instructed to backup all my data. The only data i need to backup are my calendar entries and the contacts. How can i do that? And after updating how can i put them back to the phone? Please help. My firmware is v05.00 and want to update so desperately after reading 1 of your posts.

Everything is Ok but very poor battery back-up.

besides battery time i know it is not good as 6233.i borrowed 6300 from my cousin last night and i am using it now i recieved a call for just 15 to 20mins and the phone was so hot that it was hard for me to talk with it why is it so?why the damn thing become so hot can anybody help me?is it only with me or with everyone?

To HAMMOND:
I am not the ONLY person who appreciates the 6300's battery life. Another opinionist, WAZOMBA said at first his battery life was short and that when he upgraded to v5.00 the life increased from 1-2 days to 4-5 days. So far the most days I have gotten is 4, based on my usage I doubt it will ever reach 5 days for me.
FACT: One day I was on a call shortly after I charged the phone and stayed on the call until the battery went dead. I spent a total of 3hrs. 39mins. on that call. That's more than the stated battery time from Nokia!
FACT: One day I received a call and spent 2 hours on that call.
About 5 minutes after that call I made a call and spent exactly 2 more hours on that call. That's a total of 4 hours. My battery died after that.
Would anybody call that a weak battery ?

To PROGRESSIVE6300:
More than likely your video file have a resolution of 240x320 or vice versa. The 6300 will ONLY play video files with a resolution of 176x144.
The 6300 play many video formats - 3GP, 3GP2, MPEG-4, MPEG-4/AVC (H.264) but they ALL have to have the same resolution of 176x144.
Hopefully a future firmware revision will fix this limitation.

Hi all, maybe someone can help i am trying to open a video in mp4 format and the phone is saying that it is unable to open. As far as i now the Nokia 6300 supports this types of formats as well.

thanks for correcting me. My 7th and 8th digits of the serial number are 0 and 1. You have defined 00 as finland and 01 as country of origin. What do you mean by that? I didn't get you.

"00" made in finland
'01' made from country of origin...whichever country u are (most sophisticated serial..so dun buy import set with this serial...
'02' made from UAE(poor quality)
'08" made from china (poor quality)

i'm having doubts about the strange battery life you have in your phone. How can only your phone has that ability and noone elses? I personally have contacts with Nokia Finland, even the professionals say the maximum is not more than 3 days.
