This forum is to state opinions on a particular phone model, the 6300 in this case so I don't see the need to fuss over other brands...I didn't start anything, it's the person or persons who talked about SE's being better.

Don't come in a forum and promote another brand. Each forum is to state likes/dislikes and to assist others with whatever problems they may have.

Anybody here want to talk about SONY ERICSSON the GO to the Sony Ericsson forum and avoid any arguments by coming here.

        @WLAN and OJ

Yeah but that was how 6300 is advertised with those words that OJ wrote, anyway this SE and Nokia war should stop now

        Peace

Hey guys, does this phone support the A2DP profile since I have a bluetooth stereo headset & wanna use it when I buy this phone? Also, I have a query for all those who use the Nokia PC Suite.. about the content copier, can we backup content (contacts, messages, etc.) from a symbian based phone to a phone using an operating system like 6300 or 6233? I've used the content copier successfully between nokia symbian based phones but am not sure if it'll work from one operating system to another. If someone has tried it, please let me know. I'm looking at purchasing this phone or the 6233 very soon. Thanks a ton in advance!

                To TIKBOY:

Don't worry about it, I broke my USB cover too. It's very fragile but at least the bottom of the phone doesn't look ugly without the cover.

What is CSV abbreviated for ? Maybe I can help if I knew exactly what you are talking about.

i jut got my 6300!...its awesome!

one thing... i broke the USB port cover. it's just hard to remove without forcing or a help of a small screw driver.

im also looking for a way to automatically transfer my contacts from my old Motorola phone. i know i can simply transfer using my SIM. i just have to do it in sevral batch.

i read a few things about doing CSV method. I have actually exported them already into it.

                  Any thoughts on this?

                      @Original_Jamaican
are you sure your not biast ?

well this is what you said to me about SE in the 6230 forum

The SE phones I'm talking about are T310, T610 and P800. Both the T310 and T610 both had joystick problems and some of the buttons didn't respond unless you pressed them hard. The P800 had some blackness at the bottom of the screen after it fell causing certain elements at the screen bottom not to be seen.

I visited the K750 forum a few times and one opinionist complained that his K750 fell and a permanent black line appeared in the middle of the screen. That reminded me so much of the P800 and I wasn't surprised. From my personal experiences and others I have read I know that SE phones lack durability and reliabilty. I just see the build quality as being poor.

I admit, those phones are from yesteryear but in recent times a friend of mine had a W810 and it fell in water or water caught it some other way and it stopped working so even the newer models still have their problems.

Based on these experiences I avoid SE at all costs. Furthermore, Nokia focuses more on the telephony department which IS the PRIMARY reason for buying a phone. SE focuses more on Multimedia which causes the telephony areas to lack.

The 6230 and the K700 were the BIGGEST RIVALS EVER in the mobile phone industry...reminds of of the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. You will find MILLIONS of post about these two phones being compared to each other. The K700 was a turn off in the phonebook area and camera. The 6230 could store 1,000 contacts with all fields filled whereas the K700 could only store 510 items...which means if you filled all the fields you would only get 102 contacts. Compare 1,000 contacts to 102!!! The only advantage the K700 had was the video playback where it played AAC while the 6230 only supported AMR. That alone would NOT let me choose K700 over 6230.

The K700 died a long time ago BUT the 6230 still lives on today and will NEVER be forgotten.

                      ^^
SE's are weakly built? = Opposite to that
K750i dead? = No way people still buy it

just please dont say anything bad about SE its hurts the owners of SE owners like me me and my W850i Rock! but Yes i still Use Nokia! the 6300 !

                      i dont complain
biastness and dissing other companies is very bad.

                      Peace out OJ :)

                          To SYAM:

My friend, the 6300 is already a legend. It's the top selling phone for 2007. Check news sources, they are a finger tip away.

Now tell me, if 1/2 the world experienced all the problems that some of you people in here complain about, how on earth would it become a bestseller.

After the 6300 was announced, a Nokia representative said: "Like an impeccably tailored suit, the Nokia 6300 is perfectly proportioned, always in style, but best appreciated for its attention to detail," said Kai Oistamo, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Phones, Nokia. "The Nokia 6300 has been developed for consumers who want a mobile phone that offers an uncompromised set of features with highly desirable, sophisticated design. We are confident that the Nokia 6300 will be among our best selling models in 2007."

                          And they were right.

I have said over and over that I am not biased toward phone models. Despite what you people may think, I actually took up for a particular SE phone back in 2005.
I always back up my chat. Here is the excerpt to show that I won't try to discourage people from buying whichever phone they want.

Look for the long post with my name.

It is a KNOWN FACT that Nokias are built to last.

Everybody in the world knows that Nokias can endure bad treatment and water and still survive. I have seen and heard of so many experiences of Nokias falling in water and they worked like new after they dried.

A friend of mine says his Nokia 3410 fell in his toilet twice and it gave no problems when it dried. The only disgusting thing about that statement is I was holding his phone in my hand when he told me.

Another friend accidentally washed his 3310 in his pants and didn't realise until he hung his pants on the clothes line. He showed me the phone after it dried and it worked like new.

Another girl in some other country said she have seen a Nokia dropped in a swimming pool and it worked fine once it dried.

A friend of mine had a Sony Ericsson W810 and water caught it and it stopped working. He had to get a new phone immediately. Total waste of money. All that money gone down the drain. So tell me people, why should I support SE and risk wasting my money ?
I will admit, SE makes some very nice looking phones. Their phones are eye catching but substance is more important to me. I would rather go with a durable phone even if it doesn't look very attractive rather than go with a pretty phone which won't last.

SE phones aren't the only weaklings. Same goes for many Motorolas too. Samsungs on the other hand is durable, based on what I have seen.

The reason why I talk about SE in here is because some of you people love to mention SE. If SE is NOT mentioned then I won't talk against SE. Stick to the purpose of this forum and talk ONLY about the NOKIA 6300. This forum is a forum to comment on the NOKIA 6300 and help others who may have problems with the NOKIA 6300. Simply as that.
