btw..batt life depends on the memory card, network, how u use it, and specialy how u charge it

have a friend tryed n90 - 2 month and the batt was dead - one day on standby

v3x - 3 month, batt dead, less then a day

he never fully charged the battery, because he was always on the run, i don't really know if he done the formatting operation succesfully

it's like a new car, pedal to the metal running in first 1500 km and the car is perfect .. for the junkyard, u'll climb hills with 2nd gear in a bmw like a friend of mine 2 months and he's selling it

so take care of your phone and it will give the best of it ;)

i have this phone for about 3 months
          the battery:
          -radio 6-7 hours
          -mp3 3-4 hours
          -mp3/radio+games 3-4 hours

i have a 1GB t-flash card on it and it drains a lot of battery.

i bought this phone for 100E from orange and it's the best i had till now

had sony erricson ... not too good..crash a lot, joystick problems (k700), v.v. good batt life

motorola ... pff..better the old d460 then v3x or v3.. waste of money...User Interface - like linux for windows users

sagem..very good phones..UI & software suxx big time, slow in movements and program loads

nec...could have beem slimmer..very very good phones and rezistent (had v616e or smth like that)

samsung..very good design .. but that's all..battery lifetime si awfull!

nokia - 6610i - great phone, great batt life, very very good for talk

6210 and 6310i - still have them, can't remember when my father charged them last time :-s

7650 - great phone, symbian OS...very small memory, bad batt life

6600 - lot better then 7650, my brother had it for 3 years already, bad batt life

6131 it's 6300's clamshell version, had it before this, very very very good phone, mettalic case, but same .. batt life worse then 6300
          and other models

price / quality is great, want quality ? go 4 this nokia, want camera quality ? get a digital photo camera

mob phone's will NEVER have a digital camera's quality

to all i have been using a BL-5C, for the past 5 month on not one but two 6300's. it works you just have to push it in a little hard the fist time. the timing is a lot better than BL-4C.trust me it works.

Some of you people need to stop complaining about the battery. It's getting annoying now.

I was able to get 3hr. 39mins. on a straight call until the battery died. That is EVEN MORE than the specified talk time!!!

I would agree with you if it applied to an expensive phone but as the 6300 is so cheap it doesn't bother me. This phone is even cheaper than what the 3310 was retailing at when it first came out.

I find it interesting that people complain about the battery. All you need to do is calibrate it properly by charging it all through the night when you first get your phone, it's just like your laptop or iPod battery.
The 6300 is a brilliant phone in my opinion.

@the person having trouble with the USB cable,
All you need to do is use bluetooth, it solves the problem entirely..well at least for me as I am on a mac with built-in bluetooth.

haha thats a stupid comment, u cant sacrifice battery pack, just to have a good looking phone

battery pack is the backbone of a phone, if your battery pack is poor, all the good features will look suck, because it cannot handle its features

                                  this phone is whacked

There's no such thing as a perfect phone. Every phone has it's downsides. This one happens to be the battery.

When I had my Sony Ericsson T610 four years ago that had the worst sim card holder I had ever seen. It was an absolute joke. Poorly designed and made. The joystick was also a nuisance. I've never used a Sony Ericsson since.

Every Samsung phone I've had a go on has had terrible software/operating system. It's hard to navigate and just frustrates you in the end.

The less said about Motorola phones the better.

With Nokia phones they've always been easy to use and are designed well.

The battery problem is a small sacrifice to make for a phone that has brilliant features and a quality design. The price is also nice too.

                                      To VPCD:

I don't see how your battery life drops after 5-8 texts because I have sent more than 20 throughout the day and my battery was still full until I started making some calls in the night. Either way it still lasted me until the following day.

The speaker isn't so strong for ringing BUT stronger for music playback and very strong for video playback.
