In order to get your standby to look like that you need to go to SETTINGS->DISPLAY->NAGIVATION KEY ICONS...set it to 'ON'.

its slim and is very descent but the battery
backup is not good.

if you're getting a Nokia phone, i would suggest you get the 6120 Classic instead. it is almost as slim and same size as 6300, but 6120 Classic got more features, and best of all, the 6120 Classic cost only slightly more. it's one of Nokia's best handset yet.

i dont see the point of this phone.. its quite expensive and doesnt even have 3G... theres a whole array of 3G sony ericssons that are cheaper and better looking than this

I don't know why you people complain about the battery. I was on a call for over 3hrs. before it went dead. In fact the call was 3:39 mins. which is a little bit longer than the stated talk time in the specs.
DANI - you are confused. First you said the sound quality is THE SAME as SE Walkman series then when SYAM said it's not the same you agreed with SYAM.
My phone was made in Hungary and I'm running firware 5.50.

Ok the sound quality is not as great as W series.But yeah its much better than normal nokia standards..
The battery aint as pathetic as u people claim. It gives me 2 days which is pretty decent i guess for the 16m display...
For gods sake dont compare the sound quality with sony...

Very fine outlook & comfortable in use. But.... wallpaper is disable when power switch off/on.

i don't know why everyone complains about the lifetime of the battery? nice design, great display, i charge it once in 3 days, ok.... the camera is not great but if u want something to take pictures with buy urself a digital camera...and i'm mad about the little blue lights on the sides

if you've not set up your own password/security code before, the Default Code is 012345 or 12345. good luck, hope this helps.

dear user this phone is rather good looking than giving good service.The battery performance is extreemly poor.creating music albums is not possible.think twice before purchasing this one.

Dear friends,
I am going to buy a Nokia6300..but i came to know that the battery i.e BL-4C is not working well.Also i heard that the quality of the battery depends on its make....ie wheather it was made in china or germany .....or somewhere ele....Please guide me.Its very urgent.

I had this mobile for 3-4 months,,am happy with it,battery as well...listen to songs about 1.5 hrs a day,,,few calls/shots and it lasts 2 days-recharge at night then..when you speak on mobile(any),dont touch the back of it(behind the earpiece)/internal antenna,(the index finger normally tends to be there),,weakens the battery...cheers
