To WOLFZ:

In order for the Music Player to recognize the new tracks, start the Music Player, then select options, select Music Library and then Update Library.

    Hi Dyaus
I've also heard that the BL 5C battery works on N 6300. But you have to cut / shave about half a mm of the BL5C battery for it to fit into the N6300, is this right?

it is not recomended to use the phone while charging.in fact never charge the phone open if u want to keep your battery running smoothly for several years.playing with it when it's charging means that the battery will recharge a little then will consume that current, then will recharge again, loosing it's capacity to retain power.that is the fact for all ni-mh, li-ion or li-polimer batteries.and all need formating whatever people say.

thanks a bunch for your helpful tips, they really are useful ! just a question. suppose that i'm charging my phone for the first or second time, is it better if the cellphone is off ? and if it doesn't matter, can i play with the phone,do some blutooth and other things with my mobile while it is still in the charge ? because if i do that as you know after some minutes the phone starts to recharge itself again . about the photo and footage ! you are a very nice gentleman and i appriciate your kindness, but i have made my mind.i am going to buy this phone tommorrow.it's as i've heard the best seller of nokia in 2007.it is very beautiful and certainly has a great grip.i already love it.by the way , is there an english-english dictionary for this phone? if so , how can i get it? thank you GENTLEMAN !

                      To KARAN:

You need to learn the differences between the various Nokia series. The 6300 falls under series 40 (s40) and the N series falls under series 60 (s60). The s40 is Nokia's own operating system (OS) platform. The s60 operating system platform is owned by a company called Symbian. This company allows Nokia to use their OS in phones like N95. Nokia, of course needs a licence in order to use another company's OS. Nokia is NOT the only one who uses Symbian, Sony Ericsson uses it too among others. These Symbian phones are known as Smart phones.

Smart phones DOESN'T have any limitations in some areas, like contacts and text messages. In many cases, you can store an unlimited amount of contact in these smart phones and as you said previously, smart phones can store thousands of text messages.

As you can see smart phones have better storage capabilities in comparison to regular phones. However, the disadvantages with smart phones is that they are normally bulky and very slow in comparison to a regular phone. One final thing for you and others out there who are reading this: The FACT that Nokia uses another company's operating system in their smart phones, we should all realise that we should NOT BLAME NOKIA for bugs/glitches which may be encountered when using a smart phone. The reliability of an operating system is totally dependent on the company who created it...NOT the company which uses it under licence.

The 6300 may NOT have the storage capabilty like a smart phone BUT so far I have 334 messages in my 'inbox', 87 messages in my 'Sent items' folder and 74 messages in my 'Saved items' folder which is a total of 495 messages in all.
The 6300 has better storage than my previous Nokia which maxed out at 150 text messages.

Overall, I'm pleased with my Nokia 6300.

                        To PERSIAN GIRL:

Even in the past, Nokia manuals didn't inform the customers about the first charging cycle...BUT, the service providers / carriers did. Normally when I purchase a phone my service provider includes a welcome letter explaining the first charge cycle. I guess the manufacturers didn't want to be repetitive saying the same thing...I'm not saying that's the reason why and I don't know for sure why none of these guidelines were ever mentioned in instruction manuals / user guides, I'm just saying that was the probable cause why manufacturers like Nokia and other companies doesn't inform customers in regards to the first charging cycle.

It is said that the first two or three charges should be done overnight for about 12 hours. After the first charge, you are supposed to use the phone and let the battery run out completely before plugging the charger back in again. Once again, charge the phone again and let it charge overnight for about 12 hours...use it once again until the battery finishes again...and for the third and final charge, charge it overnight and once it's finished charging you can now plug the charger in before the battery runs out completely and charge it whenever you feel like.

Personally, I decided to charge my phone for 24 hours instead of 12 hours the first three times I charged it (don't worry sweets, longer charging won't harm the phone nor the battery)...and as in each case I allowed the battery to finish completely before recharging.

It seems as if you are considering to get a Nokia 6300 If you give me your e-mail address I will send you photos and a video clip I captured with my 6300.

P.S. Thank you for the warm welcome.

i just got a nokia 6300, good phone but has a few things i'm not inpressed with, it's media player isn't a patch on the 6233's and it doesn't play some 3gp/acc/mp4 files, and having a hard time finding a flv converter to use with it,having said that the mp3 player is awesome and the over all look and feel of the phone is a "classic",good idea having the mini usb too,and for a 2 megapixel camera the picture quality is very good. also if anyone knows a good flv converter for this phone please spread the word, cheers.

Hi Jamaican and my other friend:
                                      Thanks for your advice.

                                      To Hamid:
I checked my phone; it is Hungarian and the version is also 5.0 but the battery really sucks. With normal use I have to recharge it every other day.

One thing the battery itself is made in China. I wonder if it has got anything to do with it?
