to JAKE: NOKIA 6300, its classes above the 6233, and as u wud b buying 1 now it should defiantly have firmware v5.00 which is absolutely FANTASTIC, n has solved all the problems the old firmware had, when i bought mine it had v4.75 firmware n the battery wud only last a day, but with v5.00 it lasts for ages n im not JOKìNG

Well I am glad that many users of 6300 are happy with this cellphone.
By my side, if m i n e 6300 would able to reboot and reboot and reboot, I would be a quite happy user.
For the battery, I agree with those who says that is poor but not 30 minutes, don't be ridiculous guys.
A friend of mine has a Sony Ericsson S500 and nedds recharging every day. The 6300 lasts 2 days, this is not too bad!
But all the users that have problems with their cellphones, SHOULD WRITE 'em here. The companies should know, espesially NOKIA!

                  To HUGGYBEAR:

I read a lot of these posts before I bought my 6300. After I received it in hand and fooled around with it, I realised that what many of the opinionists said here was crap...at least the ones who say the battery life is short with v5.00.

If I were to follow these people I would have missed out on a wonderful phone. DON'T let rumours lead you astray. Nokia beats SE any day!

i was considering buying this phone, coz at the time it seemed a decent phone but after reading somd post some of the comments r quite off putting regarding battery problems and so on, so ive made my choice and i will be buying the se k850 when it becomes avaliable, which will undoubtably b the PHONE OF THE YEAR FOR 2007 10/10 !!!!

                      To WAZOMBA:

                      Here's a tip for you:

Did you know you can stop the USB data transfer mode by pressing the 'End' key on the phone instead of using the PC to stop it.

When you exit the mode using the phone's keypad, the little green indicator in the system tray (section of the taskbar where the time is) disappears. Also, as soon as you press the 'Exit' button on the phone's keypad the 'Removable Disk' drive disappears from 'My Computer'

To all you people who compares the 6300 to 6233.

Just like every other phone, they both have their advantages and disadvantages but I opted for the 6300 because it can store 1,000 contacts whereas the 6233 only stores up to 500. I'm coming from a Nokia 6230 which had storage capacity for 1,000 contacts so why should I downgrade to a lesser phone book ?...which would have been the case if I went with the 6233.

                            To WAZOMBA:

Wazomba my friend, that's true, phones of the year are determined by class. However, where Nokia is concerned budget phones are normally the 1xxx and 2xxx series as most of these are under $100 in any currency. Many official reviewers states that it's a mid-range phone except GSMArena's official reviewer who states it as being a high end phone (for those who haven't, please read the GSMArena review)

Wazomba, if you read the article:

                            http://iht.com/articles/ap/2007/08/02/business/EU-FIN-EARNS-Finland-Nokia.php

you will see that Nokia regard the 6300 as a high end phone and to be honest I'm NOT at all surprised. It is stated that the Nokia 6300 is made from high quality expensive materials, as anyone who owns one can easily see and the screen is a whopping 16.7 million colours along with a high 240x320 resolution. Throw in a fantastic 2 megapixel camera (which certainly beats my co-worker 3.2MP Concorde standalone camera), a decent video recorder and an array of powerful features and it would be hard to consider this phone as a mid-range yet budget class phone. Many other brans DON'T have a 16 million colour screen even though they may cost more. Take SUGAR's beloved K850 for example, as new as it may be it has a 262,000 colour screen. In fact, based on the specifications sheet, the ONLY thing it has over the 6300 is a higher megapixel camera and it's also 27 grams heavier than Nokia 6300. SE phones have aren't durable and built quality is weak, not to mention RF reception is the worst...I DON'T need to comment on Nokia phones in the quality, reception and strength department. Wazomba this message is for everyone, wasn't directed at you entirely.

People like Nokia more than SE so don't consider SE over Nokia, they can be better in camera but overall Nokia is much better than SE,considering cameras it's much better to buy a digital camera rather than mobile phone....

to SUGAR: I cant see how the se k850 will b phone of the year considering that its not avalìable to buy yet, but phone of the year is put into different catergorys NOKIA 6300 will b going for buget phone of the year catergory, where as the S.E K850 will b going for cameraphone of the year alög with the N95 and the SAMSUNG G600
