i dont own a unit like this but my uncle has one en i really like the fone.it was so easy to use w/its two megapixel cam...i just wish that nokia will create a fone same as 6300 but that is 3g capable.pls upgrade this fone...

Today I buy nokia 6300 but the microphone don't wokrs.Probably is a defective... damn! I'm disappointed so much. Tomorrow I will to turning back the telefon in the store.

i've no complains about this phone but one - the shite battery life. i have to charge it every day, which is very uncomfortable. for example, today i had to charge it twice. it ha probably the worst battery ever. otherwise it's a great phone.

To EVERYONE:
I have read tons of user reviews from you people and I will try to clear up the general questions.
First of all, if you want to get the best result from this phone make sure you have firmware v5.00. If you have v4.71 or older, upgrade to v5.00 from Nokia's website.
The camera takes lovely photos in sunny weather conditions and not so sunny conditions. I am yet to try night mode but you will see noise in the picture. According to GSMArena, the night mode is wonderful.
The biggest issue is battery life. First of all, the phone doesn't come with the power down clock enable. Because of this, the light will turn after the phone hasn't been used for a while and then you will see the wallpaper on a dark screen. From experience, I can tell that this type of thing eats up the battery just the same. Check display settings and ensure that all power saving modes are on and then go to the screen-saver option and enable digital or analog clock from their-I rather the digital because it shows the date. Eventually the screen will go completely dead and you WON'T see the digital clock any longer BUT at least the screen is off and the battery consumption will be extremely low.
The second major complaint is about the video playback. Video playback works great on my 6300. The trick is that you have to encode the video at 176x144 resolution. To get good clarity use MPEG-4 (MPG4, MP4) to encode the video and you can experiment with bitrates starting from 128kbps-216kbps. Anything over 216kbps is sure to move out of sync. My videos plays fine at 216kbps.
The phone poses a challenge especially to new users but there's a way to get around any obstacle that this phone might possess. Just experiment.

hello to all nokia 6300 users... i have had this phone for 2 months and it works very very good. here are my pros and cons to this phone:
pros: crystal clear display
durable
mp3, fm radio, bluetooth
2 mp camera
loud ring volume
long battery life
very good key pad
expandable memory(mine has 1GB)...
---and it works perfect!
cons: bad camera and video quality
creating folders to the phone memory
card is not easy
2.5 mm headset jack instead of 3.5mm
....but all in all i will give this phone from 9/10!!!!

Very good mobile. slim and handy phone.i am having 2 same phone. very clear cristal screen and very smooth key pad. more user frindly. very good zoomable camera, and very important is best battery life. i dont feel the phone is the hand becoz so smooth.

Why settle for a nokia 6300 when u had a nokia n70 before... i must admit that the symbian s40 phones are in most cases remarkably faster due to the simplied software but... Think about all the useful features on the N70 like multitasking which is extremely useful when u want to do two or more tasks on your phone at the same time... Not all s40 phones has a copy and paste feature... Anyways... Keep checking back in to see what the others write...
This is only a matter of opinion... I would definitely prefer a phone with minimum s60 software...

i purchased this phone one week ago. I also have samsung u600. I must say that i find 6300 easier to use than my samsung. If i take into account price to phone ratio, i believe this is the best phone available in the market. If someone wishes relatively cheap phone with the normal everyday uses that a phone should do then he should buy this phone without a doubt. The size and the feeling while writing sms on it remarkable and so is its screen. The only disadvantage that i can find is the capacity of the battery. However with such a great screen, with so many colours noone should expect better. Well done nokia a great phone indeed, its been some time since i was impressed by nokia but with this machine i sure am.

I brought this phone on last sunday. I would like to say that, this is very great phone. Only issue i'm currently having with this is, its battery life. Other than that, this is a very good phone. This having a crstal clear display and I was very suprised to see it first. Great phone. Thanks Nokia.

Just a quick comment in response to all the battery issues. I work in a mobile phone shop and also do work for nokia and the number one complaint about this phone is the poor battery life other than that the phone is immensely popular.
