Dear All users
I heard from the reviews that the 6300 can be use with the BL-5C battery by trimming the battery a little (even if you know what you are doing). Actually, this is a VERY RISKY thing to do. Although, the BL-5C is a original battery from NOKIA, trimming the battery can actually expose the metallic parts (or chemical leaks) and therefore can cause the battery to burst.
There was several cases (in Hong Kong) users "modified" the batteries. When the user was using the phone, it exploded. The guy lost his ears and part of his face got burned. It can also happen if you use "non-original" batteries.
I think I would rather have a phone that has lousy battery than having injuries to myself.

Fantastic design, weight and feel features are up to speed BUT the speaker is very poor in the headset and the loudspeaker too, ive just got rid of a 6233 and the only problem with that phone was the low number capacity of 500 names.I am taking mnie back to the shop tomorrow to get it replaced...

Bought this cell a week back.
Actually i had gone to buy w700i but the shopkeepr somehow managd to convince me to buy this cell(maybe he has bigger margins with Nokia phones).
I had kept 3 options w700i,w810i or Nokia 6233.
Was chkin out the phone when suddnly realised that it was a java phone.Thought i was duped.Thought a lot about replacin it with w700i.Didnt do it.
I am in luv with this phone.
Pros:
1.Display is best evr. Amazin clarity.
U will defntly fall in luv with it no doubt.
It is the USp of this phone.
2.Music:much much bettr than previous Nokia phones. Not at all close to sony w series. But the adv with Nokia phone is u can alwys get a convrtr and use Sony walkman earphones. So doesnt make a diff.
3.Camera: ok ok.Not at all in comparsn with sony but display makes it bettr amongst Nokia phones.
4.Software: havent been able to find pdf readr. No support for .sis files. But in comprsn with sony walkman series u will find thousands of software 4 this on.
5.Design: wow what a phone. In style it comes 2nd only to razr.
Cons:
FM: recepton is ok. Doesnt have Rds.
Has got stereo output.overall ok ok.

There are no fault on this phone except the LOUSY battery. I read several reviews. Most were happy with the phone, but displease with the battery. I do not want to lie to myself but I kind of regret getting this phone. (although it was a gift from my lovely wife...... which I was very insistance on getting the 6300....she was asking me to get others).
I always tell myself to "look for a phone that has good batteries". But except for PHILIPS and some other not so common makers, the others had batteries that are weak. Why get a phone that has BLUETOOTH, CAMERA, VIDEO, MUSIC PLAYER, but with batteries can't last. It is like using Windows Vista and not being able to use the AERO functions. Not once that I got a photo with batteries that last. My wife has a SE K750i, the batteries last at least 3 days with heavy usage.
My first phone :- Ericsson R600 - Lousy Battery, Change to Nokia 6610 - Good battery but not accessories (ie :- Bluetooth, Camera etc), Change to SE K508! (forgot the model) - average battery (but acceptable). Then change to 6300 - Good functions but lousy battery.
Anyway, I asked for it. Maybe both Nokia & SE photos are not meant for me...... I shall try Motorola or Samsung. (Hope their batteries are at leat average :- last 2 full days).
Thank you for taking your time to read my review.... Chow.

Any solutions to reduce the heating up problem? Does the change to BL-5C battery help somehow?

Hi...the guy from the U.S. here again...I'd buy an unlocked 850 version, but Nokia has not released it (and a Nokia rep told me that they might not).
If they do, I'll post my comments for sure. I've been waiting for a simple, slim nokia bar-style phone forever and this one seems to be exactly what I want.

Answers for Sahilm:
1st -does this phone have a alarm snooze function .
Answer: Yes it does
2nd - can you choose ure alarm ring tone or does it have a standard one .
Answer: You can choose any tone (or MP3) you want.
3rd- when setting an alarm does it tell you how much time ( hours / mitutes ) left till the alarm comes on .
Answer: NO (but does that really matter?!)
All in all, a great phone. I've had one week & am very pleased. Battery is not great (2 days use maximum, but really need charge every night if heavy user) but that's to be expected of such a slim, sleek phone.

I just got my phone today! I was really out and ready to get the 6233 - but when i saw the 6300, I changed my mind and got the 6300. I'm still playing around with the features - many have mentioned battery problems with the phone - I've yet to see if that's true. Yes, the display is great - though the resolution on video is not so great. Sound is great too. I barely play games on phones but I was upset to learn that there were no built-in games - not sure if it depends on the region you got your phone (I bought this here in the Philippines). I mean compared to the 6233 - sure it doesn't have infrared - but who needs that when you have bluetooth AND Usb connectivity. Let's not forget the sleek design of the 6300 - simple and sleek - no bulky shapes or fancy buttons - just a timeless design.

To the person who said this will be a "top selling" handset...
It sure looks like it should be, but I'm in the U.S. and Nokia hasn't even put it up on their U.S. site yet. I don't understand how SE can release phones weeks after annoucement, but Nokia holds their product from the market.
Hopefully, the 850 version will see the light of day. Please Nokia...don't force me to buy another brand!
