Am a big fan of Nokias interface. After having several bad marketing designs this past 2 years, I finally settled on the 6300. Its stylish, efficient and a pleasure to use and looks way classy.
My mate has a 6233. The black one is good but the white is aweful as was the grey one which you cant even read the numbers in general light.6233 Is nice but quite bulky. I have not experienced heating problems and no problem with battery life at all. I also have a 6230i back up phone. Finally Nokia is just about out of the woods again.

If anyone knows where I can source a cover for it (not those hard plastic things, can they please drop me a line at Bodcare.
Cheers

bought 2 nokia 6300 phones yesterday both got bl5c in them now its esy takes about 4 mins to modify bl5c all you have to do is cut a little bit off the plastic surounding, it will then fit in the phone the bottom of the bl5c you dont have to touch it only take bit off one end ,eg side nearest camera , works fine lots of talk time now

hi guys , two amazing people here have been able to modify the bl5c battery and put it into the nokia 6300 ( which comes with the bl4c originally) to increase talk/standby time by a lot more ,
has anyone else tried this and can someone elaborate/tellus all here a bit more as to how it is suppose to be done ..ie-- cut the batt or shave the batt from which part ,
am sure a lot of people here will benifit from it -- thanx in advance

I don't have any comments, as i don't have or know anyone with this handset. I'm a phone dealer and am trying to find out if the charging port is the same as a 6233, or is the old type like the 6230i. Please inform, cheers.

                      BL-4C comes with 6300.

What are the other options available for this? How much does BL-5C cost?

I really don't know what to say. Looking into your opinions, I can see that the battery life is one of the major problems. The "heating up" opinion is also a major issue. How can I rely on a phone that heats up everytime I'm talking more than an 30 minutes. I might as well take the nokia 6233. I totally upset by the way Nokia made this 6300.

                                To waZH :
just buy 6233, it is better than 6300, in my opinion what is good about 6300 is its slim looks and good screen display, other than that 6233 is by far better than 6300; such as better video capture (vga vid capture).. sound.. battery life etc. etc..

I am not able to decide between 6233 and 6300. Both are priced almost the same. Differences I could make out from the posting by other users are:
                                    1. Display: 6300 is Better
                                    2. Sound: 6233 is Better
                                    3. Longer Calls: 6300 gets heated up
                                    4. Talk time: 6300 has poor battery life
                                    5. 3G: 6233 supports 3G
                                    6. Infra red Port yes 6233

I am more concerned on the heating up of 6300 and the battery talk time. Otherwise it fits my purpose. Can anyone help me to decide on it.

I am in my second week using 6300 and my opinion has gone down so drastically that i am planning to sell this off.

The battery life is horrible. Once it lasted only a day without much change in the usage. Also, it takes around 2-1/2 hours to recharge to full.

The heating up problem is getting worse, i feel. It starts heating up in the second minute of a call. I think the stainless steel body and the glassy finish is to be blamed for that. Clearly, the heat absorbing feature internally is not working out.

I have experienced problems (cracking sound) when playing mp3 songs with a strong bass base on full volume. So, i used the custom equaliser settings and set the bass below normal.

6300 is a class wrt the looks. But as a phone, "i feel", it is a failure.
