Phone introduced in late 2007.
Normally supplied in a sealed box with orginal battery warranted for 12 months.
Where is question of getting fake battery with a new phone. Are Nokia dealers replacing these?

I love the sleek and slim, handy and stylish N6500...a little difficult for sending a text message since keypads are really small...though ill get use to it no choice i have it already!

I think you should get the original nokia battery for this phone, a lot of fake batteries in the market. If the battery is nokia original, then it would last long. Some sellers take the original batteries and sell them separately, then repalce the orig batteries with china made of low quality. try to surf nokia site how to detect fake batteries...

Not happy. Highly unrealiable. Set bought on 20 Jan 08. Packed off on 29 Jan. Got back the set on 12/02/08. Never worked after repair by NOKIA. NOKIA says charger or battery defective. Need 2 weeks to organise repair / replacement. TOTAL DOWN TIME $ WEEKS MINIMUM.

Hi, I’m planning on getting this phone to replace my Nokia e65, which became useless after the firmware upgrade. Big mistake! Anyway, back to this phone. Anyone used the email function on this phone? That was my main use of the e65, outside calls. Appreciate the feedback.

I have just bought the phone a couple of days ago and the battery life is shocking for a new phone. It's nowhere near what is advised (5 1/2 HR talktime). It has not lasted me a single full day and I do not talk for anywhere near 5 hours.

i am not happy with this phone as battery dies in a day itself if you can carry your charger with yourself then this is the best mobile to buy!!!!!!!!!!!!

nice phone, but think again about the battery.
if talking every day not too much, charge it every night.
the guy who was talking about 4-5 days? get real, man, no model from Nokia has lifetime longer than days. I mean if you USE the phone not keep it in glass box and look at him...
For lifetime use Sony Ericsson !

Bought the phone late december.. It has everything you could wish for.
Sure, the battery doesn't work a very long time. But also not considerably short.
Work in a cell phone shop myself.
Can recommend this phone to anyone. Other phones have more features. The 6500 Classic however has the coolest design and it easily fits pockets.

Ian, well, for how long are you talking each day, then? I'm calling for about 35 minutes every week, and my phone's battery dies in about 8 days! It's really a good result.

I have had this phone for the last 3 weeks now. Very nice design, easy to use.
Biggest fault is after a few calls the battery dies, taken it back and got new battery and the same issue occurs. If you not mind charging your phone every night it is the phone for you. shop assistant told me a few people have returned them too. so not just isolated incident
