juukamen, I also have the Samsung E730 clamshell which I used for over 2 years and is still one of the great mobile phones. I have the 6300 classic and it's a little disappointing with the very short battery life and heat build up at the earpiece. Am now considering the Motorola V9, as my old V3xx seems quite good. Wish Samsung would make more good clamshells like they used to...

I've loved my Samsung SGH-E730, had it for some years now, and bought 2 phones before thisone, and they all got sold under 1 month again. The only thing i don't like have tobe the incredible heatup during talking, that is the most annoying thing that i've been with. The next version of the "Classig" gotta have less heatup then it can be one truly great phone.

Do not listen to those comments below, cause they are quite misleading!!!
I use a phone(any phone) basically for making & receiving calls.
The look of the 6500C is nice(my opinion) & the quality of the casing is good(the metal part), the lower part of the phone with the shiny plastic is prone to small scratches!
Cons:
-The screen & fonts are on the small side.
-Reception not the strongest(but acceptable).
-Long standby time BUT very short talk time(less than 1hr 30mins.) of continues conversations!
-Cannot/donnot even show call time/duration during a call(will show only after the call is finished).....that is crazy or stupid!!!
-Slippery to hold.
-Terrible keypad.
-Low quality 2MP camera.....the color is blue & the picture quality thumbs down.
-No video calling function.
Pros:
-Ring volume loud.
-Sound quality good.
-Handsfree speaker quality excellent.
My advise for you is to pay a little more & get yourself a Sonyericsson W910i(big screen, light weight, long standby & talk time, easy to use, not to mention a lot more function.
My collection of phones(I still have them with me):- Nokia 8800, Nokia 6500C, Moto A1200, Moto k1 & K3, SE W880, SE T650i, SE W910i, LG Prada & a Vertu constellation.

A bad development I must say:
Further to the review that I posted a few days down below - I am sorry to say that my phone has stopped working.
It seems that the phone is part of the defect "charging problem" batch - so if you drain your batter till it's totally empty- the phone won't charge again.
I just discovered it yesterday and today I brought my 6500C back to the shop.
They should give me a new phone in a few days.

bp27, yes, the external speaker is quite loud and you can connect a headset to the USB port, like everything else.
