Yeah those concept phones look great. If u love the 6500 c u would love that one too.

Honestly Vertu's should look like that. I mean yes they use the best materials to build them. but common , why do they all look like glittery cock roaches?

    One rule i have:

Never ever a thick slider. I don't care if it's ten times better than the IPHONE. Thick slider is just a brick that lets u split in 2 when you talk. Let's face it, part of the reason for us to be spending so much on a phone is to show it off too. So i don't see myself showing off a brick. OR to put a brick in my jeans and think it's cool.

Moto A1200 is a great phone. It was an attractive and unique phone. I had 3 batteries so that wasn't an issue. I just hated the stylus in terms of handwritting. It never guess what i want ! i always made mistake and i had to use 2 hands to txt. that's why i went back to 6500c so i can just take it out and txt .. all with one hand.

In terms of suggestions.. i don't know. I'm always into slim candy bars. If this had longer battery life and WIFI. This would be my phone for eternity (that's what i say whenever i get a new phone) lolz

        Hi Jim,

Absolutely agree with you in terms of what you said about motorola phones! They noticed that they are improving their battery but their interface is still boring to look at...

What a suprise to find that you are also a Moto owner/user. I still have my A1200 but I'm looking for something to replace it(something small but with stylus for hand writing). I also have a Moto K1 which I use most ...it is good looking, small, slim & light for easy handling. Although slim, it never give me the feeling that it will slip off my hand even when I use it during conversation. Screen resolution is not so good but call quality is loud & clear on both ends! Btw, my face or my ear never feel heat from this phone even during continues long conversations; like 2-3 hours! Not even my palm can feel any significant change in temperature!

I use the K1 quite roughly. It is an extremely comfortable phone to use...easy to flip open or close by one hand & the keypad is big & easy for such a small phone. Hardly any typo.

I looked & tried the 6500 slide again(a few hours ago), but I'm still not impressed! The look is not half as good as the classic & it is kind of thick, heavy & bulky. I guess I'll pass this one! Slider or flip are definately not a Nokia speciality!

No Samsung for me. Moto V8/V9 too wide. Any suggestion?

Ok, fine, the answer is: I don't know! :)

My past 2 phones were Motorola's. (A1200 & L7). I used to hate Motorola because its system interface is so primitive and their batteries sucked. But guess what, their phones are pretty solid in terms of system and basic functions. I always had bad experiences with Nokias. One Nokia always crashed and for the another one the Keypad wasn't working properly. I am giving Nokia another try... I just can't resist this 6500 c beauty :) So far I have no problems. No overheating also... Just the battery is kinda short :(

Now i just need to find people to sell my Motorola A1200 to.. i'm too lazy to do it over Ebay.

Like it or not....Vertu are expensive cause they are really very well made!

Anyway, I'm only comparing Nokia & Moto phones in the same price range; regarding heat up issue only!
So Jim, you haven't directly answered my question yet?!

well. you sold it and u got it back as a present. What goes around comes around! lolz!

You asking me why a Nokia heats up but a Motorola does not? That's like asking me why Vertu's are so ugly and expensive!

My problem is that I sold my 6500classic last week & I've got another one as a present from a business associate!

p.s. I still think that this is a good looking phone! It's not nice to sell a present(at least not in a short period) so I guess I'll hve to use it this time around!

                      Jim,

Thanks for your feedback. I absolutely agree! But you have not answer to my other question as to why Moto phones do not encounter hugh heat up like Nokias'?!

Appreciate if any engineering expert around here to answer my question...

because for a Vertu you paid 20 times the price of a Nokia?

My Vertu is made from all metal & also made by Nokia; but why is the reception so strong???!!!

I believe that Nokia use plastic as the material for the back cover cause I suspect all metal will give an inferior reception.

I doubt if 16 million colors is the real cause of heat up problems with Nokia phones!

Panasonic first came out with 16 million colors for GSM market, but I do not remember having the same problem! **16 million colors was a big "WOW" for our GSM market at the time; but it was nothing new to the Japanese market!

What I'm trying to say is that Nokia phones(even 256 color ones) heat up more severely as compared to other brands. I can still recall when I had the 8850(only in black & white screen), it also generate a lot of annoying heat!

I'm not a Moto fan, but their phones(even slim phones) do not post any heat up problem for me even during extended conversations(ocassionally for up to 3 hrs.)

                              Why?

I love this phone.. just the battery bothers me.

Nokia phone are more pron to heat build up because they utilize a 16 million resoloution. With that many colors, the phone is bound to get a little warm.

It shouldn't get hot though, if it is getting hot perhaps you have a defective model.
