Very nice looking fone,have had it for 2weeks now!.Crossing my fingers already abt the freezing coz im comming from nokia6111 with such headache and dont need that.So far so good!

I've had this phone for about 8 months and honestly I'm quite sick of it. The camera is WONDERFUL, no doubt and totally no complaints, it's really important to me because i love photography and i don't have my camera with me all the time. I love the auto focus thing.
Music sounds great and all the functions are fine, though i must say i hardly use any of them.
I'm sick of it simply because it's so heavy, bulky and boring! It's too much of a guy's phone, I need more curves in a phone, and not quite functions. Admit it, you don't use all of the functions you're paying for.
I think I'm getting a Samsung E500 next :) The 6500s was great while it last (I dropped it bucketloads of time before it finally died on me). Oh well, guess I just have to bring my camera everywhere next time :)

Please help me by providing information about the sound quality of Nokia 6500 Slide in head phone and speaker. and is this phone has louder sound? Also, can we see pdf files in this phone?

It seems I am not the only one having 'freezing' problems.
I was listening to some music yesterday on it and my wife sent me an image via bluetooth and it froze on me. I couldn't turn it off because it stupidly doesn't have a power switch - you have to hold down the red button - (which also means I have to go through the "Goto" menu to choose a different profile, but that's a different topic).
Eventually it turned off, either from me holding down the power button, or it just gave up and turned off itself.
Either way, after starting it up again, it asked for the date and time!
She herself has had freezing problems but only with general use. She thinks maybe it was her pushing the keys too fast but I think that's a stupid cause for it to freeze, no offence to her, and she didn't take it as such.
I'd like to hear of further 'freezing incidents' from others.

This set is very good and all feature is better then other model but the sound and internal memory always all set plzz extend it in new model becoz due to this customer like other brand but i like nokia.

I'm very happy about this 6500 slide! Dumbs ups! Yes, it are heavy, cause it are made of metal! Nice cell!

why is my phones. can not video call?... even i'm in 3g mode.. even the thu the one i'm calling have 3g mode..... i can't open alaso my opera mini v.3.o. kindly help me... thanxxx

I would like to get this phone, but i have one important concern. Is the screen size and font size of the letters and numbers large enough to read texts easily? I currently have a Motorola peble u6 and it is very difficult to read texts because it's just too small to see! Can someone please tell me about the size of the texts on the Nokia 6500 slide?

I have the 6500slide, it has good features, nice camera, video, messaging and music speaker. the problem comes in when random misfunctions cause me to worry, once it did not recognise my security code after repeatedly entering it only by the 15 try the keypad unlocked, it also freezes for short periods.
but i like the phone, get it because its stylish and sleek.

I've brought this phone on Nov 07, and since than I regretted everyday. Whenever I talked morethan 3 minutes it restarts autometically. Sometime the keypad does not work. While using the camera storage option autometically changed from memory card to phone.

Sound Quality in headset and speaker phone is how in this phone. and in term of sound which is better 6500 slide or N82. thanks

pynx_07, 11 Sep 2008I bought this fon 2weeks ago and i've noticed that its batt... moreI have had the same problem as you and my handset which I purchased two months back came with an older OS version 6.2. It used to freeze on me quite often and then none of the buttons would respond for quite some time. I have upgraded the OS to the current version 8.3 but that has not vastly improved the situation - though it has become less prone to freezing, marginally!! If you do want to upgrade, first take a backup of all the data that you have on the phone memory as upgrading the OS will erase everything from your phone memory!! If you have data in your memory card - you dont have to worry about that as its not going to get affected by the upgrade. Install the Nokia PC Suite from the CD that came with your handset, connect the phone with your PC throught the supplied USB cable and the Nokia software will guide you through the backup process. Once you have backed up the phone memory data, connect your PC to the internet and click on the Update Phone Software icon. The Nokia PC Suite will determine your current OS version and search out the latest OS version available and after you confirm the upgrade will automatically download the latest version and install it on your handset. Once the upgrade is complete you need to reinstate your saved data from your phone memory and then its all done!!

Ela, 07 Feb 2008Hi, not sure if anyone else has encountered the same proble... morea 'bug' with slide is it will not remember ringtone or other options which are not integral to phone. Try moving ringtone file to the normal gallery folder and it may remember a bit more easily.
If ringtone file is on the memory card instead, it always defaults away...

Great phone and good features. Had some starting up problems though, wouldn't operate properly, appeared to be caused by my belt holder with magnets in the flap. I read some similar problems on this forum, so : keep the phone away from magnets once you've re-installed factory setting because that's the solution. Cheers

I bought this phone on February the 8th. And i think this phone is sort of perfect : the designe is perfect, the performance is great and the features are very good. So I advice people to buy it.
