It would be one of the best phones if equipped with S60. But with S40 it's just regular phone with nothing really noticable. Plus regular plain design. Not a choice for me.

only 3 mp? why not 5?? it would have surpassed the n95 if it had 5 mp and a2dp... cheaper, better looking, though a bit more heavy (5g). a simple phone is faster and more reliable than a symbian one. today good enough seems to be the slogan of many phone producers... how much above the current price would you have payed for those 2 extra functions (a2dp and 5 mp)?? 20 bucks?!?!? ...if you buy a 400+ dollars/euros phone i think 20 more bucks don't matter any more.

I think I have maybe surfed the web via my phone 3 times. Why would I wanna spend an exorbitant amount of money to surf via my phone, when I have the Internet at home.
I have never been in a situation where I NEED to get online this instant. Give me the basic features with Bluetooth and memory expansion, and that's all I need. Most likely, it's all ANYONE needs. People like to get into pissing contests with their cell phone capabilities.

@Roger
-not being able to capture VGA 30fps is not actually a con...I have to ask u in turn that how many phone available from other manufacturers beside Nokia is capable of recording VGA vdo? Moto-none, samsung-1or2. SE-none,LG-none...15fps is already adequate.
-WIFI for S40 is not truly necessary due to the fact that newer s40 phone only features JAVA-based browser which can't have access to WLAN.
its current usage must be only VOIP.

RW0t, I agree with you fully. It is a matter of taste. Having writen in this site for some months I've seen that it is very common that people just tend to throw some opinions on these phones without actually thinking things through. It's like they have this image of a perfect phone in their head and no matter what the target group is they are gonna bash every phone that has somewthing different from their perfect phone. Like Roger here... Wi-Fi is certainly handy but 6500 slide is a mid-range phone targeted for those looking for a stylish phone with solid features. It's crazy that people require the same specs from these phones then from Nokia's E- and N-models.
That's a good point that indeed people expect every Nokia to be feature-packed (especially with 3G, Wi-Fi, HDSPA...) since Nokia's E- and N-models are the ones that are known. And now that Nokia is trying to catch up with Samsung and Sony Ericsson by making a stylish slider what do people say: "Booo... no Wi-Fi, no HDSPA, no 5MP cam...booo". To me that's just weird.
Put it this way, I live in Finland where there are more cell phones in relation to the population than in any other country. And yet, I don't know anyone who even uses the Net via their mobile. Most of them just calla and textmessage, and sometimes take pics and listen to music. Sure, people do use the Net via their mobile but not everyone... not even the majority.
My point is that it's just stupid to say that 6500 slide is bad if it doesn't have advanced features found on mobiles like N95, E90 or such. Be glad that it has 3G since this mobile is most likely competing with Samsung U600, LG Shine, SE S500i and Motorola Z6/Z8, and from those only the Motos and 6500 slide have 3G. But I guess this has to do with what was mentioned earlier: because it's Nokia people expect every advanced feature there is to be in a phone of that company.
Anywayz, looking forward to this! And to you who asked about the price. I believe this info is mentioned in here about 3-5 times now but... In Finland it will cost 370 euros plus taxes (around 400-450 euros, though this is a guess). This means that it will be a little more expensive than U600 right now.

1)Micro Usb is not for charging and headset. It is just for data.
2)Video out is for looking at video, photo and game on TV. Not for video call.

Pros:
- Carl-Zeiss 3.2 megapixel camera w/ autofocus
- TV-out jack enabling video calls on TV?!
- Micro-USB slot for charging, data connection and headset
Cons:
- Video capture still at 15fps (should have been 30fps)
- no Wi-Fi

I wonder why Nokia replaced the Visual Radio with the FM-RDS. Probably they have finally realized that Visual Radio isn't popular. At least they learned from their mistake but it was late.

i have no negative comments as of the moment. Looks good and has an improved hardware specs than previous Series 40 sliders of Nokia.
i am thankful too that it's not a Symbian otherwise, it will be another N-series crap. I do prefer Series 40 phones than Symbian, because it has faster tactile feedback.
The back of the phone looks familiar. A Sony Ericsson T650?
