I have a question. I recently bought a nokia 6500 slide used and for some reason the screensaver wont activate after whatever timeout ive selected. Any reason?

as i posted before "Ive had this phone for a few weeks now and it works great all the features work excellent, the only problem i have is the other day my dictionary stopped working and i cant get it back, the phone suggests going to a website but the software on the site isnt for 6500s and it also says get the software off the cd that came with the phone but i cant find the software on the cd, can anyone help me with this problem?"
can anyone help me with this problem?????

MILCENT, 08 Jan 20096500 slide has TV out but all in black & white.Ensure that you selected the correct configuration in the TV-Out settings. I found B&W at first, then flipped from NTSC to PAL (I'm in Europe), and it worked fine, still does, though a bit twitchy to operate at all on the TV, unless in TV mode, before connecting from phone to TV

Update firmware, if not successful, contact Tech Support of my carrier (sometimes they can help), failing that it would be Nokia Tech Support (they usually have a phone number or email address). They are usually pretty quick with the emails (48-72hours max). Best of luck, and I would love to hear about the issue and what steps you needed to take to resolve it.

Maybe it was that price very soon after release, and the price was brought down significantly, but I have seen the phone for between $479AU and $449AU.
I would LOVE to see where you got that price from, I really would. Just so you know, I do work in a phone store, our current retail is $449AU. The reason I am putting "AU" at the end of each price is because I wouldn't want you getting confued with any other currency. And also in agreeance with "Wrong Again", have you tried a phone charger? They come in handy for when the battery goes flat. =)

The phone only costs $199 in Australia on Vodafone NOT $700.
I have had this phone for a year now and i couldn't be happier with it. It has a very durable classy aluminum face with perfect buttons for messaging

I cant believe this. This phone is still being sold with all these problems? I had a post several months ago with the battery problem. A waste of $700.
Again, it is not sold in the US. I wonder why? Perhaps because there would be a class action law suit.

I live in the uk and did have freezing problems before I upgraded firmware to 7.12 same as yours I believe,anyhow my os seems to be fine now, but only upgraded 2 months ago.

I bought this phone the first time when I found my friend using this. But to my disappointment, the picture quality is not as good as my friend's. It's not as sharp and as bright as what my friend has. Nokia's phone production didn't seems to have the same quality of camera when they used to sell. The later production always comes to be worse than first production.

this phone is the best phone i have ever had, want to get one for my son, best memory for all pictures and downloads and the camera being a 3.15mega pix is better than my nokia 6220 which has a 5mega pix

I have posted a little bit in the comments, which is basically what I am going to say now: great phone, a few OS troubles, and a little hard to read in sunlight. Other than that I don't have too much troubles with it. Just for the sake of it, here is a little tech info about my current situation with the phone:
Firmware Version 7.12
I am located in Australia (it seems to make a difference, I think)
Phone is currently branded (I dislike this very much)
I would LOVE to hear from anyone who has managed to get the OS issues (freezing on slide, music track name won't change) fixed up, especially in Australia, and also anyone who has been able to debrand the phone. Also I would like information regarding to any firmware updates available (refer to last post), I checked last month, but I may need to check very soon.
Apologies if this is posted in the wrong spot, or these questions have been answered, but 170+ pages is a little much, lol.

2: When was it released? (Currently using 7.12, updated approx. 5-6months ago in Australia).
