p.s. Does any one know how to get Tomtom mobile onto the 6630 i hae seen it on some else so i knoe it'll go and i know i'll need a bigger mmc card(dv).

There was a big recall in feb/mar in the uk for this phone due to software faults. If you buy it now it should be updated to V.3.45.113

          Go to symbian-freak.com.
You can download 'net monitor' from there & use it to switch off 3G.

I have it for a couple of months now... it's really a great phone. I don't want a phone with a stick (P910 like) and i need speed through UMTS... so it's a perfect combination. 6680 features a front camera and high color display, which only result in less battery time - which, by the way, goes fast if you're on-line!! So if you need that, then wait for a price to drop - else don't hasitate! ;)

thanks for all those responded in regard to my post..

i've called carphonewarehouse.. and they said they could to an upgrade (hopefuly to fw 3.45)

but i am still worried cos i still have to break the vodafone lock (which currently remains a wait in UK)... and if i get it done... i am not sure if it'll work fine with my 3 sim...

so i am thinking of selling it.. and then going for a contract on 3...

would be cool.. if any 6630 customers on 3 could let know if they had any problems so far...

with the vodafone one... (i assume bcos of fw 2.49) i couldnt do even some of the easist features...
turning off that 3g is one..
then.. i cant put an mp3 file as ringtone.. it says not supported..
then cant add a photo to a contact.. blah blah blah...

                            any comments and suggestions.. thanks..

Yes it is supposed to adjust screen brightness dependant on ambient light levels, but I've never noticed that it does !

Make sure it has firmware 3.45 or later so you can switch off 3G if 3G network coverage is poor. Press *#0000# on the phone keypad to display the version of firmware on the phone.

If you set 5 secs the display will be brightly illuminated for 5 secs then go dim when 5 secs is up & then stays dimly illuminated for about 30secs. The dim illumination time isn't variable as far as I can tell.
