I couldn't get NSC to install 3.45 here in UK. So I'm stuck with 2.39.
You can get net monitor from here to switch off that blasted 3G:-

i have the v3.45.113.,it hangs 1 sec when some software is installed.Did any one have this bug.Plz share it

My opinion about the thing above the top right side of the screen is that its some sort of light sensor cos if you cover it over the the backlight and keylights come on!could be wrong like and if anyone knows any differenyt then please tell!

which is better? this fone or 7710? i love the features but it doesnt have a radio :( n also based on the opinions..it contains bugs.. any suggestion?

I have V 3.45.113 so yes, I would guess it does contain bugs. There us a newer version out now but that hasn't been put on yet

Do ya have v:3.45.110 or v:3.45.113? Version 3.45.110 came in december 2004 while version 3.45.113 came in january 2005. I dont think 3.45.113 has bugs. THATS WHAT I WANT TO KNOW? DOES V 3.45.113 have any bugs???

Make sure you have firmware 3.45 or later so you can switch off 3G or you will lose calls. 3G network covererage is not always good. Vodaphone should not have put the 6630 out with only fw 2.39 on their :-(

I have had 5 of these phones and their has been falts with them all,such as droping signal and not regaining it without switching the phone off and then on,also they switch off on their own, freeze up, and lose all the tones. Not very happy, technology to advanced without proper testing i think.

hi,
i've bought a sim-free 6630 on Vodafone UK. i've had a look at those posts saying about ver 2.49 and 3.45... i currently have 2.49... can someone tell me where to get 3.45 or even netmonitor (to turn off that 3G thingy)...
did someone say vodafone would not work on 2.49... i am looking to unlock it to use it with 3 UK ... would that have any problems?
a detailed answer is very much appreciated..

If you have 3.45 or later you don't need a code to turn off 3G. Just use Tools~Settings~Network and change Network mode to GSM

Have a few questions for the 6630 v3.45.113 or 4.13 users!!
1) Do these latest versions have the restart bug?
2) Do they have the camera bug which was there in initial versions of 6630?
3) Is there any other sort of bug in these versions?

hi all
well, i discovered sth about the "palette colours" the palette never changes rite?
but sth that do change is the colour when you open "contacts" below (in the screen) you see ABC rite? well those abc are in colour that you set in "themes".
I tried in all colours, but anyway it only changes the ABC letters that i mentioned.
ps/ if someone could change the palette colours plz let me know it.

you cannot switch off 3G unless you have firmware 3.45 or later. If you have that then good though I don't know what the code is to switch off 3G. If you have earlier firmware, you can download net monitor from 'symbian freak'. Then you can turn off 3G with that software instead.

My conclusion is this phone is very good. But don't get it with firmware v2.39 on Vodaphone UK. You can't switch off 3G so lose calls if coverage poor & drain battery faster.
Must be firmware v3.45 or later.

i think the 6630 is a bomb of a phone. what i struggle with is the games for it and also to download from my pc using the usb cable. lekke phone

if u got the latest version there is option in the network settings then network mode.. thers GSM or DualMode option...
