Hi all!
Bought 6630 from Dubai when i was there last week.Beautiful phone, love all the features.Can anyone plz tell me what is the CODE to switch off 3G.

I don`t want a camera phone!!! I want a phone with 3G and stereo mp3 player! AND I WANT IT BECAUSE HE HASN`T A BIG PRICE like nokia N91!!!

i just formatted my rs-dv-mmc, and when i wanted to open the dictionary, "dictionary word missing, install word data base" occured, can someone advice on wat should i do? thanks

that's interesting you had 3G probs also. What the heck are Vodaphone playing at. Any '3G only' phone is a complete headache !
I don't even want to pay out for video calls. Don't really need them.... just a bit of a gimmick really. I only went for the 6630 becuase it's high spec in other areas.

Correction I installed 'net monitor' I mean.
Reason is even the Nokia service centre didn't have 3.45. I don't think it's available in UK yet. Anyway. It doesn't matter. I've been able to switch off that useless 3G now using 'net monitor'.

Vodaphone won't support 3.45.
I guess having wasted £billions to get the licence from the UK government they wouldn't want to let people switch it off would they :-(
Answer is I downloaded net watch from symbian-freak.com.
It lets me turn off 3G.
Now I don't miss any calls & the battery lasts longer.
I'm really angry with Nokia & or Vodaphone for putting out a phone where you can't switch off 3G.
It's taken me ages to find out why I was missing calls by losing reception & then to find the solution !
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr !

Well mate, did upgrading to v3.45.113 solve the 3g problem. Is v3.45.113 bug-free? Plz help. Badly need to buy this phone

At first people on this forum were saying that version:3.45.113 does not have any bugs.Now saw some posts saying that v:3.45.113 also has a few bugs. Can u plz clear this confusion? WHICH IS THE LATEST BUG-FREE VERSION?IS IT V3.45.113.plZ HELP

to robpe,,you will find vodafone at the root of your problem as ive had trouble in the past getting them to unlock and upgrade things.they often bar mp3 ringtones so you buy theres.they always heavily lock stuff to there network and think people will support me in this matter as its fairly well known how awkward and restrictive they are.That is why i got my 6630 sim free and at the moment running it in 2g and will go to 3g when they release 3g sim cards which will be when 3g is fully working at 99% coverage and less faults.Ive a big feeling that by then we will be using HSPDA but until then 3g is no use to the majority of us thats why my moto a835 is sat there after nearly 2 years,that said when it works the video downloads are somthing else,lets hope things pick up on a big scale

ive just taken a 3 minute vid of my cat and the tail wagging and me wandering about is so smooth compared to my 7610.this was at 176 x 144 resolution and not in night mode. Its very impressive and now want to transfer it to computer to have alook at,,where do i start??the phone does hang sometimes if youre to fast with it,you must let it respond before pressing the next command.the whole package is great and awaiting memory card of 512mb to evolve and see if the phone can accept them with no hitches.The screen is bright and a touch brighter than my gx30 but obviously not the same resolution.The ogg player is crisper and more efficient than the inbuilt player and see no reason at this point in time to go for the 6680 with none of my mates with a 3g phone anyway.This is the second best phone ive had( the 3650 being second)and glad i upgraded to the 6630 while i had the chance to return my 7610 which did not have full screen video,and stuttered thru video.A superb multi purpose entertainment device with a higher speed 220 mhz processor,,excellant 9.5/10...

As I've mentioned I have been losing network coverage becuase Vodaphone 3G signal not good here & phone does not switch over to 2GSM soon enough, so I often lose calls.
I learned from Symbian-Freak.com that v3.45 gives option to switch off 3G, but Nokia service centre say it's not available here in UK & Vodaphone only support firmware version v2.39 151 which I have, with no option to switch off 3G.
At symbian-freak.com you can install 'net watch'. That gives an option to switch off 3G. I've downloaded & installed it & it works as my so phone has plenty of signal on 2GSM :-) Also the battery should last longer on 2GSM for some reason.
So after a month of hassle & aggravation Nokia & Vodaphone have left me to find the solution to a problem they should have sorted out !
I am very angry with Nokia.
Their so called 'customer service' did not help when I emailed them twice. They just kept repeating that only v2.39 is available.
They are a bunch of idiots.

regarding Vodafone block on ringtones. If you go to www.allaboutsymbian.com and do a search for ogg player, this software allows you to play MP3 ringtones. And the files are compressed to 64 byte but with no loss of quality. I have 128mb mmc and have 6 albums on it. Best bit of software you can get for 6630. I recommend it highly

i bought this fone.. its an amazing so buy it and i dont get the pc suite because it doesn't detect my usb cable.. if ne one noz plz help nd send an email..

Hi all!! Just bought my 6630 a couple of days ago including the 2nd camera (docking station) for 3G video call. What can I say it's GREAT!!!! No problems what so ever, works perfect. The only down side so far si the battery life :( it only lasts about a day. The camera is great as well as all the other featurs. I very happy with this product. My software version is 3.45.113 (04.01.05). My prior phone was a Nokia 6600 this one is MUCH better, faster, nicer. . . I LOVE IT!!

what is the little thing in the top right hand corner that looks like a camera/light. My friend has bought a 6630 and it does not say in the user manual what it is and it's driving us crazy!!!

I am replying to question posted by one of my freind saying version 3.15 does not support voda phone well that is suprise this is something which no company says because it has dual option mode for 3g service and gsm mode so no question of such wrong posting I have my self upgraded to one of my freind version to 3.15 and he is on tmobile which works very much fine please go to authorise nokia care and get issue solved
