I switched the Network mode from Daul to GSM to save the battery as recommended. Now, I can't switch back to Dual mode anymore. First the change menu disappear, second every time I try to change the phone keep restarting. Anyone can help me on this? The firmware version is 2.39.15.

Thanks for the reply, Hari.Though I've heard of different voltages for memory cards,I still don't understand why many people are suggesting the 512MB dual voltage cards. What do they mean by dual voltage? Do they mean the card requires double voltage or half the voltage? Help again pls ;)

For those having problems copying all numbers from your sim (pobinr, 2005-02-01), this is how to do it:

                  Menu--> Contacts--> Options--> SIM contacts--> SIM directory

Select the names you want to copy (For all, select Options--> Mark/Unmark--> Mark All-->)

then select Options--> Copy to Contacts.

I've had my 6630 for 5 weeks now and although it restarted a couple of times, this seems to have stopped all by itself. I have been told it could have been a 'network reboot', although this may well have been just a brushoff from customer services!

Other than that, a superb tool, but I do still use my trusty 6310i as a work phone!

Its an awesome phone, lacks FM radio for one. The big problem i faced however was the handset has too bleak air volume. Any call would sound so distant and hard to hear. The memory chip was a terrible pain in the neck. It would time an again prompt message for data corruption or simply not being there. Nokia isnt too great in customer service handling and this piece has taken a lot of my time energy and still i am yet to hear how the new piece with these problem will be handled by them !!

@toxic . Nobody in india is absolutely sure if this phone 'll accept 512MB memory card. The person who sold me this phone asked me to wait until he finds out definitely if a memory card other than that given in the box 'll be compatible. The maximum size available with nokia is 128Mb which costs the same as a 512mb outside. But there are a few tips given in this manual. It says that only memory cards with 1.9 and 3 volts 'll be compatible. May be this 'd be a useful tip. Right now, i'm gonna wait until someone else experiments. If someone had already experimented, kindly inform me.

Hello. Maveric, there almost no point in comparing 7610and 6630.6630 is better than 7610 in every possible way. Regarding anti virus from f-secure, i downloaded that 852kb file but there was some problem in installation. Is there anyone who uses it here? Can someone help me. Is it really effective? Is virus a real threat to our smartphones?

I don't think the signal reception on my 6630 is as sensitive as my old 2100. Downstairs in my house the signal is bordeline with the 6630 but was always strong enough for my 2100. Has anyone else noticed this ?
As for the stupid small fonts !!!

My 6630 with firmware 3.45.113. Have not hang at all in 2 weeks already. All of my frens 6630 with 3.45.113 is rock stable.
malaysia 6630 Zitron package does include the Nokia Datasuite. U can always download the latest from internet for free.

Malaysia 6630 comes with RSMMC 64megs.

Orange did recall their 6630 so that this version 3.45.113 can be flash onto their phones to solve the 3G bugs.

The camera picture quality i got from my unit is very good just like all the reviews they have on the internet. After bring my photo to the FUJI center to print 4R , i found that the quality of pictures is equivalent to a 2 megapixel canon digital camera, which is VERY VERY good. Finally Nokia can overtake samsung in GSM/3G phone. S700 produce slighly better picture at night wit flash. But for daytime & indoor, this 6630 camera rocks. Imagine that the JPEG picture file size is about 500-800K each picture.

The 6630 was release before all bug fixes bekos the Operators in Europe is launching their 3G network & they want a 3G phone from Nokia. Nokia release to capture the market that samsung & S700 was eating away from Nokia 7610. The release timeline & firmware updates are perfectly executed from the Nokia marketing team. Get a phone out 3 months b4 the actual ready date & capture the market first & then update later. One have to realise that this is a smartphone, not a normal phone, so it's prone to have problems, just like when samsung cancel their symbian smartphone D700 b4 launching.

6630 with a processor of 220mhz & symbian is very quick compare with ANY phone. It's a winner.

Of course the Nokia 6680(release in march/apr 2005) with 256K colors TFT & dual camera is the PERFECT phone to have.

no end of faults, don't know if you have seen this one yet - when you go into themes and view a theme you can't actually back up out the menu , or the sporadic crashes, mint phone - no.
