With this particular phone Nokia is ACTUALLY promising us:
- 12 hours talk time (GSM).
- 6.9 hours navigation time.
If Nokia 700 can truly deliver even half of that in real-life terms, I'm sold!
Like everybody else, I'd prefer autofocus for those rare times when a crisp close-up shot would be obligatory, but since it would mean an unsightly bulge to an otherwise slim design, I would have ended up making the same choice myself.
If I'd want to be able to take good photos in most situations, I'd buy Sony NEX-C3 with a pancake lens. I'd wager that simply opting for NOT having a zoom at all means in 9 cases out of ten that you get to have at least a photo or two rather than none at all...
Life is about making choices. You can't have all, it's that simple.
But guess what is the best thing about Nokia phones in general?
That no matter how much Nokia would want you to pay for their phones come launch time, just by having those nowadays infamous five letters on it pretty much guarantees a downward spiral-like price plummeting from the get-go.
In due course (and not too far ahead in the future) Nokia 700 will still be one of slimmest and lightest best-bang-for-you-buck phones that you can own. A user-replaceable - and cheap! - battery and free maps "for life" with navigation alone would make it so.
All other manufacturers than Apple cannibalize their own sales just by launching new phones every other week (while failing to keep their numerous gizmos' OSes updated.
It's about time to let go of this redundant - and eco-unfriendly - practice.

according to official website of nokia, Nokia 701 also has no secondary camera but it has a feature of video calling lilke this Nokia 700..

I am planning to buy this phone. I am using SE X8 for the moment. But a huge problem for me is Symbian OS. I used Symbian on SE Vivaz and that was a worst phone EVER (thx to Symbian)! I am afraid to return to Symbian. To give such a amount of money for smartphone which is unable to install applications, app store which is obsolete, freezing OS. Phone has great spec but I will wait for Symbian Belle review and user opinions. Just I think switching from Android to Symbian is like swithcin from BMW to Yugo.
