My nokia care's first installation failed but he asked me to 1 hr (dnlding smthng)and then installed and my phone started. Ur nokia care offocial was not competent otherwise it had not gone to hd office.

guys product code 059h218 is already released OTA, i updated it for my 701 and when i did restore factory settings after my updation, my 701 did not start and now its gone to head office Delhi(India), i think it might be due to data corrupted r any virus.

I do not understand when people write to say they had this and that problem. Phones are not loke cars where you will say this is left hand and this is right hand. All Nojkia 701 are to the best of my knowlegde the same and mine was bought in Kenya, a country that Nokia does not even consider a BIG market.

You can try flashing your phone using phoenix.first download the original firmware files from nokia servers.

AnonD-38095, 17 Apr 2012You are right bro OTA provided upfate matching my phone co... morehello.....all third party applications are region specific,,first get your product code changed back to original one as soon as the indian variant firmware is out.i'll post it here whenever nokia release it for india.but till then you have to wait.you can use your phone with some other code and it's not harmful for your phone.codes are just a medium for region specific firmware to avoid language mismatch....enjoy.....

I did the firmware upgrade by ota about a week back and did not face any problem what soever. It went smooth and the phone did an auto restart. None of the settings, data or any prior installations were lost. I am using the phone since the ota and I must admit much smoother, faster and definitely a much better ui. The new widgets are awesome. I did not understand why you guys had a problem with the ota and why you needed to take your phone to the dealer for a fresh installation. I must say lucky me.

OTA provided upfate matching my phone code. But from n8fanclub.com I downloaded microsoft apps which launched two nonresponsive email icons.
I did the reset and my phone did not reboot.
I went to nokia care and they took time to download the software and installed in my phone.
I returned home and found that there were some more language options....off buttion in the camera settings....but the main headache was that thesearch engine 'google' was missing and only 'bing' was present as the default one....I selected many regions but google was not found. I contacted npkia support and they told me as you have cited above that software is released as language and region variants. Infact my code did not match the software.
I asked nokia care and they downloaded other variant and reinstalled. Mow google is present there..but code still does not match..They had told me thesamething as you that nokia India server is not showing the new software but I did not believe. Anyway my phone is performing well..Buuuut I have no courage to reinstall microsoft suite bkz of those two email icons.
Om facebpok yesterday, nokia India informed about the microsoft office mobile available by OTA but my 701 is not shoTVwing any such update.
Onething more...google was found and also the 'off' option was missing from camera settings and same was the case when I had updated via OTA matching my code.
Is there any bad effect of mismatched code software???

But when they try to reinstall it they ended up with my set dead.
now i'am afraid bcoz i hav only 1 cell n they r saying it will take 7 days and they will send it to headoffice.....can't we do hard reset using phonix,,,,
