It's a great device from Nokia.only thing... moreIn fact it is really a good product from nokia...but with some more faulty design flaws like the phone resting on the camera itself and speaker is getting filled with dust particles and titbits. Once I put my phone on a leftout sweet piece and it all filled in the speaker holes(fortunately the right hand side one).

Hi All, I got my 701, and i found as a dust on the screen, i changed it and still have like a dead pixel but let me tell, after a huge research this are not dead pixels nor dust, the nokia clear black is a kind of coating the screen with a darker surface as sunglasses, and i think due to some deficiencies in the production process, some residuals while coating, u can see that this is not dead pixel as u can see whats under if u just try to hold ur mobile in skew position.
i faced this issue with Made in Korea 701, and i wanna tell, i didn't want to buy a chinese nokia, but the buit of the Korean one is below my expectations.
but as overall, i love nokia.
and as a final note; samsung also u can face the dust or dead pixels or whatever.

My mobile is unable to load ovi music icon.
On the almost mid region of the display screen there is a dot which is clearly visible on a whole white or blue colour screen. It is very irritating as my eyes are always set on it. I'm just studying how to get it resolved...may shortly visit nokia care.
I APPEAL OTHER 701 USERS TO PLEASE LET US EXCHANGE OUR EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE TO HELP EACH OTHER OUT OT OF ANY ISSUE.

I used 701 a lot. It's a great device from Nokia.only thing which I didn't like about 701 is that you cannot remove the memory card without switching off the device and inserting a sim restarts the device.that means neither memory card nor sim card is hot swappable,which is really sad.Nokia should've provided sim slot below the battery and memory card externally accessible.

AnonD-38095, 28 Jan 2012701 users please state here how is yr experience of the btr... moreit might b a problem on ur device, bcoz there r 2 of these 701 in my house, and i faced no any problem since 4 months. Both r working grt widout any hang and gives back up of about 2-3 days on the moderate use of phone in which mobile data is always on.

Hi friends. Got my 701 abt threee weeks back. No issues. May be either I was lucky to have a good piece or may be following the tech procedures. No dead pixels on screen, effortlessly plays 720p videos and youtube videos, battery lasts one and half to two days with moderate use involving internet, gaming, calls, videos and photography etc. No issues with bluetooth file transfers or wi-fi or internet. No freezing issues. Effortlessly upgraded to newer version of OS and NOKIA maps. All apps works very well.
Dear friends, technical issues may arise with any equipment/ device. Pl put your tech issues in detail so that we can resolve them mutually. Good Wishes.

Hi friends. Got my 701 around three weeks back. Idon't know whether I'm lucky to have a good piece or may me I'm correctly applying the tech procedures, all's well. I don't have dead pixels on screen, effortlessly plays 720p videos and youtube videos. Recorded video/picture quality is just superb. Better than my dedicated 12MP camera. Battery life gives about one and half to two days of decent use. No issues with iternet, bluetooth or wi-fi connectivity. Effortless upgradation of software and maps. No issues with nokia store or applications. I am really happy with it. Did a lot of homework and comparative studies before buying it. Proud owner. Thanx NOKIA.

I also visited a mobile repairing shop nearby and they said that it isnt a major issue it can only be dust particles they also mention that its common in every phone just dont noe shud i trust them or not because my brother have c6 01 nokia handset and i cant see even a single spot on his phones screen so how are only the users of nokia 701 are facing this problem....is it because our display is tft and c6s is amoled.......

Even I was facing few dead pixels on my 701,,thought i got a faulty piece.so I sold it but you all are facing the same issue here.go to a dark room where dust particles are hardly visible over the screen...then if you see dark spots on the screen,it is surely a dead pixel.try different colored plain wallpapers to clearly see the dead pixel.i liked 701 very much and still want to have one.im really missing my 701 & planning to buy it again but afraid of this dead pixel issue.mine was made in korea.now im confused b/w nokia 701 and samsung galaxy R.i've never used a samsung device before.can anyone help me suggesting the best one among these?
