melalert, 16 Jan 2012man your saying that the 296ppi density is cannot be seen b... moreRetina display in iphone is for resolution,apple uses same technology as nokia for display,it is ips LCD with clear black technology,apple is paying royalty fee to nokia for this.wat ever apple does is presumed great even wen it is using same technology as nokia,but wat ever nokia does it is presumed bad. Internet speed depends not only on service provider but also on handset wat class of edge it support especially if ur using 2g. Retina display is just marketing strategy,fancy name for not so special feature(you can say both nokia 701 and ray has retina display,which is resolution or ppi,hardly noticeable by naked eye)which apple uses for all its features like facetime which is just another name for video call which nokia phone had it for almost a decade.

Guys i hv 701, but believe me, xperia ray is much better phone compare to 701 everything except screen size which ray has smaller screen, so go for ray with full support from sony and google with its new os i.e. ice cream sandvich

I AM also nokia's user since 5110.
last 2 years nokia realy disapointed me too.
due to symbian 5th hanging and freezing issues.
last nokia's mobile i used c7 it is good phone.
symbian anna and belle shows that nokia is trying to reach our requirments.
now nokia is rising again due to lumia 800,900 and N9.
While me switched on android and purchased galaxy
gt-i9003.
its is good software but not as i heared by the peoples.
ANDROID Also hangs phone restart auto maticaly when i use some normal applications even i formated and flashed and updated the software.
GPS and navigation is my jobs requirment
so i found nokia is better and i am planing to go fo \nokia again only i am waiting for the viber and skype video calling. which i could not make at galaxy i9003. when i make call on yahoo my glaxay restarts.
on skype i could not get good result for video calling.

AnonD-12446, 14 Jan 2012In android not all files can be transfered to sd card some ... moreman your saying that the 296ppi density is cannot be seen by your naled eye??marketing strategy??this is for you.."YOU ARE BLIND"!!that pixel density their saying ..thats the contrast..in case you didnt know..and 1 more thing your internet speed relies to your connection..that internet speed is the that u cant see by your naked eye..that is the big marketing strategy..that you are saying not the bravia of sony.

BlazinEmperor, 15 Jan 2012Nokia 701 is far more better than RAY! Even reviewers confe... morelolz. u r telling that nokia 701 is better then ray. do u have checked ray at least one time. I also like nokia but ray is far superior then this . u r telling that its IPS screen is clearer then ray. but once compare both side by side u must say that ray has far superior , crisp and clear screen then this with 297ppi which is directly compared to iphone 4s .and powered with sony bravia tech. which is awesome.
secound I like nokia but not their os . symbian is fail againest android. very light os. and boaring.
xperia ray able to play most of all HD games and all apps present in android market.
I checked both side by side . coz my frnds have both these two handset. and I must say ray is great in terms of camera, sound,screen,os.

I am one of Nokia's biggest fan but I am not happy with what all Nokia is doing these days.they are not working towards the demand of the customers.recently they've launched windows phones which makes no sense in mobile consumer market.they already left symbian development which is not a very good decision. I am happy with their belle release and all others are also happy with the functionality that symbian offers.not like windows,windows is a restricted OS which aims at social networking and web browsing.but there are a lot many things you're leaving behind.windows was never a good choice for Nokia.we don't want windows,we don't want to be different.we want what is best and reliable.we want symbian back with a new name and increased screen resolution or if you are not left with any other choice......then android is 2nd after symbian.why didn't you choose android,,why windows ??people want fun,lot of applications and features at an affordable price.see what samsung is doing,they've launced an affordable android device galaxy Y.android was released in 2008 and became popular in just 2 years creating much hype,,,because nokia phones freezed a lot at that time.I dont know what nokia did in these 2 years.nokia was ruling mobile world for the past 14 years and now samsung is about to overtake Nokia in just 2-3 years,Im afraid a lot and the rising graph of samsung,declining for nokia really made me depressed.nokia never worked on the operating system in these 14 years,,,only one best thing they did in these 2 years was nokia n8 and now belle which they must have done much before.hoping to see Nokia ruling the smartphone world.

1- android os is far superior then symbian and after 2016 symbian is history.

2-u say nokia 701 loded wid clear-black ips-lcd display but it is fail againest xperia -ray TFT screen coz of amazing bravia technology which is used in many high end sony tv series. no air gape screen of ray gives high saturated,crisp and clear screen with nearly 300 ppi dencity which is directly compared with iphone 4s screen.

3- 8mp camera of ray is same which is included in arc (one of the best cameraphone yet) powerd with sony exmor technology which gives great pics in low light.

4- browser is superfast in compare to nokia 701.

5-ray is mid range phone but performance wise its great. not a single HD game which I played on it produce any problem.

6- I have more then 70 apps in my phone but still run smooth like a butter.

7- symbian is more light os then android thats while review says its fast . n8 have 680mhz processor and still able to run belle while android entry level smartphone like galaxy y packed wid 800mhz processor. android is beast in compare to symbian

8- ray has sleek , slim beautiful body in comapare to 701.

Yes Nokia 701 speaker volume is low, quite low enough. I have much difficulty in hearing it ring while I am on the roads or in the underground railway. I put it on ring+vibration mode outdoors. I asked Nokia, they said its built like that - "sophisticated" they said.

I buy nokia n8 but i was liking 701 too and i no parchage android sumsungs phone
just and just bcoze.... Sumsung have better andorroid phones but all have no dedicated camera key its suck for me
so i foragot difrrent between android and smbian haha...
and i choose symbian n
i knw android is much more better
just for dedicated camera key:)

Nokia 701 is far more better than RAY! Even reviewers confessed that this phone is faster than some dual-core Android phones... It has a LED-Lit IPS LCD Nokia Clear-Black display, this is the same technolgy used in high-end LCD TVs & Monitors, itz not a normal TFT screen which is cheap & has washed out colors. Symbian Belle is a GPU intensive OS, the GPU does the most work here & the CPU is just like a back-up. Let no one give u false info about Android OS! Itz laggy on mid-range hardware, & not all apps will work on a mid-range phone.

hi friends nokia 701 is a good phone dont see the disadvantage please see the advantage no body give the class 33 gprs & edge network and 8mp cam hd video recording nfc bluetooth v3.0 coming nokia desired to launch symbian belle to nokia belle major software update on this feb month so its became a great phone

John, 13 Jan 2012701 is da best phone.720p video,divx,xvid,nfc for playing games.whats the sense of ur NFC here and your GPU that the other guy says better than adreno??u cant even play HD games with .apk file in this crap..playing in this fone reminds me of playing super mario in the old gameboy color..admit it that this phone got too many weakpoints..im not saying that this is a bad fone..all im saying is that it cant win over the SE RAY..NFC whats the sense of putting ur keyboard or mouse in it??unless you dont have a PC and ur living in a JURASSIC ERA?

Whenever i switch both... moreyeah i too had same prob but i figured out the solution...once you turn on the wifi and turn off the mobile data then you have to define the acess point under setting>conectivity>settings>network destinations>add new access point.... after that open your browser and define access point..
