the success of this mobile greatly depends on the pricing of this set if its priced too high then no one can save nokia from its downfall and if it provides value for money like samsung is doing it will help nokia to a great extent, still nokia needs to greatly improve its portfolio in qwerty keypad segmant which is lacking behind. launch of nokia e6 model didn't help them coz it was very highly priced as compared to the features it is providing which is not the value for money hence nokia has to see downfall.

AnonD-15354, 04 Sep 2011Okay, so you say that Nokia phones are durable and that is ... moreSo? 1) The end user dont really care what OS it's running on. Many dont bother about what's the latest & meanest. In my country, there are those who only now buying C3, C5-02,E71.
The newly announced models are geared towards non western market. For one, Nokia is releasing the 700, a smaller version when some other brands are going for 4.5 inch, 5 inch, 5.3 inch. You westerners really have large fingers, lol.

          2) What for take up Android? Then even harder to differentiate themselves from others, soooo many brands using Android. I do marketing(not handphone of course), I wouldnt recommend it if my company comes out with same type/variant as others. Do something different - Nokia decided to go with WP7. They didnt go for Meego, now Samsung wants have a go at it.
          3) That's marketing view. End user view- Android drains battery faster than Symbian. That's a problem if one dont work in the office, constantly on the move & dont use car. Even those people in developed countries want a phone with good battery life.

WP7 battery life, etc, etc I dont know. We'll find out next year when Nokia comes out with one. Meego battery life, we'll find out in a few weeks time

Mate, we are posting in a thread of a mid-range device. You still do expect Nokia's Symbian as a high-end? They now have WP7 considered as their High-End..
" The bad part is that people with similar opinions to yours are assiting them towards this fate."
Excuse me? How can you tell?
"You use words such as reliable and durable when describing the things that you are used to in order to mask the fact that you do not like change. "
            Did I?
            O'cmon..
You want change? So do I..
Do you want this phone? Then why are you here?
"The question is, will Nokia be around when the change eventually happens?"
            I don't care.. Do you?
If you don't like this product then go to other brands. Its business. It is the companies loss if a product is not worth its price.

Xdam, 05 Sep 2011Agree! Here in this site, lots of Geek-wannabe-tards compla... moreThe bottom line is this. Nokia is not bothering to keep their phones current. For example, back in the 1980's there were companies that did not think that the personal computer would ever catch on. They believed that everyone would still use their older machines instead because people were used to them, and those machines were reliable. Here we are today, and the personal computer is alive and thriving. However, those companies that thought the personal computer would not catch on are out of business. Nokia is that company which is trying to hold on to the old ways, believing that the new stuff will never catch on with the masses. They will believe this until they are out of business. The bad part is that people with similar opinions to yours are assiting them towards this fate. You find it easy to dismiss the opinions of people who want to see things continually improve. You use words such as reliable and durable when describing the things that you are used to in order to mask the fact that you do not like change. Change will come even though you do not want it to. The question is, will Nokia be around when the change eventually happens?

The new belle os is great but its a copy of android....its got the drop down notification panel just as android..the widget menu style is also similar to android...but atleast its got a 1 ghz processor(first on nokia) which is amazing and the new NFC(near field communication) feature is mind blowing...this is the best touchscreen phone from nokia...

The specs look pretty good for the price. I actually think it will do pretty well against similar priced android handsets.

The camera is a little disappointing, but then I'm coming from an N8 so it's to be expected. Double the ram and better gpu claw it back for me though, should be snappy.

Here in this site, lots of Geek-wannabe-tards complaining and crying about specs and OS'es. They're going blind. Do they like Monopoly? We need healthy competition and innovation. Let the companies do what they like. If you don't like the product then choose the other one instead of bragging. Not all people in the world is a Techy! I have friends having iPhone4, the SGalaxies, and some High end Phones, yet, so few knows the insides. And they don't even care about those stuffs yet they are Professionals! All they care is if a phone functioning for what they need then its okay...
Fanboys bashing products is a shame actually.
Trolling does'nt help either. Decide with your budget and needs. Not being a Geek-tard bashing and blaming. Nuff said, post honest opinions and not biased fanboyism ideas of a certain technology.

If all phones brand use Android, the mobile world will be one damn boring world..all are the same..only hardware wise is different. Nokia keep using Symbian and looking to use Windows is a great step because it makes the mobile world more interesting with more uniqueness and better competition. Consumer in general will have more choices to choose from. So long story short, if anyone feels android is good, there are plenty of android phone already in store for you to buy and please to keep saying that Nokia should use Android as well. If you like apple, buy iPhone, if you like Symbian, buy Nokia..ok
