well it doesnt mean that nokia has to go with the android trend.. what he meant that most (not all) nokia users bought the nokia phones for the sole purpose of its features and its capabilities.. eg batt life, durability, for some (like me) symbian.
i dnt know why but from nokia 5630, i upgraded to samsung ace but it still feels like i can rely more on my symbian than my android.
i really like the touch screen interface but still im dependent on my symbian than my android.. i use my android as a gameboy while my old 5630 as my main phone.
for my opinion you are like comparing a phone to a laptop:
nokia = phone with PC capabilities
androids = PC with phone capabilities
android is the best phone OS today but not as reliable as symbian
planning on having this phone hehe^^

AnonD-13986, 04 Sep 2011The same can be said for users of other brands, they simply... moreOkay, so you say that Nokia phones are durable and that is why you like them. Durability is a good reason to like a phone. However you are missing my point. My position is that nokia is still trying to keep Symbian alive. It is obvious to the rest of the world that Symbian is not the operating system of choice. Nokia would be smart to begin using a much more popular operating system like Android in at least some of their phones. Instead they have chosen not to use Android in ANY of their phones. Not very smart. Other phone makers, such as LG and Motorola have done so in order to keep their brand current. Why is Nokia being so stubborn about doing the same? It is because they are being too proud, and do not want to appear as if the need help to improve their brand. Their pride is what is going to finish them.

Hi peeps! I browsed the Ovi Store for possible apps for this beautiful mobile, but to my surprise, among hundreds of apps availlable, opera mini and opera mobile are not there. The same thing for the other two symbian belle phones, 700 and 600. Why! Nokia, why!

AnonD-15354, 04 Sep 2011The phone only has 512 mb of ram. Why does Nokia continue t... moreThe same can be said for users of other brands, they simply buy their fav brand just because it's XXX brand. They follow what is popular.
Different people buy different brands for different reasons. Nokia does not suit you. Samsung does not suit me. I wouldnt go with HTC either cos it's Taiwanese brand. Korean & Taiwanese brands are for the 'fashionable' but it has durability issues for its products.
I have used Samsung & dont find it very impressive. It feels flimsy(and is) with its light plastic. Android is fast yes, but I dont want a gameboy as a phone device.
In more than 15 years of using mobile phones, I have found Nokia to have the best durability & battery life- 5 years average. For Android, I only trust SE, but they are a tad overpriced

[deleted post]You are just the type of custmer that keeps Nokia alive. You simply buy Nokia products just because it is made by Nokia. Not because it is a good product. You are defending a company that is feeding you sub standard products. You are not helping Nokia by buying into this type of company loyalty. Nokia will believe that their phones are still selling because they think that they are making good phones. In reality it is because people like you will buy anything as long as it has the Nokia logo on it. However, it is still an inferior product. You can be upset all you like but that is not going to make your phone any better. It is also not going to help Nokia's business model because it appears that they still insist on slapping Symbian onto their inferior phone lines. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Nokia succeed. I used to sell a lot of Nokia phones back when they first became successful in the United States. A successful Nokia would add more phone choices into the market which would help to keep overall phone prices low. That would be a good thing. I want to see Nokia succeed. I am simply pointing out the reasons that are causing them not to succeed in the hopes that someone smart, who has some power at Nokia, will actually listen.

The phone only has 512 mb of ram. Why does Nokia continue to make products that are not up to par with the top phone makers like Samsung and HTC? 512 mb is nothing compared to what the other top phone makers offer. And, if you consider the problems that the N97 had with its low memory problem, I find it hard to believe that this phone will operate well. Symbian is not a good platform to run phones on. It is too clunky and slow. Why does not Nokia just give up on that out dated software. They would fair much better if they were to stop being so proud and start using the android operating system. Yet they insist on holding on to Symbian to there deaths. Wake up Nokia you are behind the curve! You do not have time to ponder about what to do. Stop sitting in the board room talking about how you can make Symbian a more popular platform. It is not going to happen. I know this because I once used a N97 as my primary phone. The memory issues drove me up the wall, and I received no help from Nokia. This brings me to another point. Nokia's customer service sucks. They offer no real help when their phones have issues. One they sell you a phone they are done with you. They are slow to put out information on phone fixes, and the ones that they offer do not solve the problem. If Nokia wants to be big in the United States they must first learn to stop ignoring their customers. Americans are big on customer service. Also, to remain a profitable company they should pay attention to what other phone makers are doing. To me it seems as if Nokia is not bothering to read the news to see what the competition is doing. Their newest products do not compare to the great phones that are already on the market. Why would anyone buy a phone which specifications do not compare to what is currently on the market. I can only imagine that this particular type of buyer would be just loyal to Nokia products. This may last for a little while, but one these types of buyers tire of receiving inferior products Nokia will begin to lose its ground on the world wide market, and eventually fail alltogether. I have said this before but just for good measure.......Wake up Nokia!!!

if they put autofocus in it this phone should sell well.
i even bought my n8 coz of the autofocus, not the megapixels.
the nokia s^3 lineup (c7 c6-01 e7) generally takes good pictures even with fixed focus, so with af they should be even better with ability to take close up pics.
