Susil gurung, 08 Mar 2013I want to buye nokia 701. is it good phone or nt? plz.....Nokia 701 is good. specially when you update to fp only. i said fp1 only because fp1 is much more better than fp2 according to those people who experience fp2. nokia 701 is awesome nothing word cant say :))

If you want to change your language while type somethings. Use 'Lang swicht' to done it, U can download it from Nokia Store for free!

1) however with the new upda... moreAs I noticed on different forums this last update only offers some extra improvements for the gallery and camera. You will not get any front cam button and any extra improvements for the OS I don't think there are.
If you still have FP1 on your phone, my advice is not to update to FP2. I used FP1 right after I bought my phone last year and it was just fine. I made the stupid decision to update to FP2 and in my oppinion I destroied a superb and brilliant phone. Don't get me wrong, with FP2 the phone is very usable and almost everything works...let's say fine. But there are many bugs, bugs which were not present when I was using FP1.
And one more thing about FP2, which I hate the most. After I updated the phone the camera (and I refer to the camera at the back of the phone, NOT the front cam) has really big problems, at least in my case.
I can't use my camera to take pictures !!!
And the simptom is like this: I use for the first time the cam, all menus come up and I can take photos - I exit the cam and next time when I acces the cam no menus come up, nothing and I can't take anymore pictures. The cam starts, because on the screen you can see the background your are pointing at with your phone, but there are no menus, options, and the cam button won't capture any picture. The only solution for me is to restart my phone each time I want to take photos, because the cam works only at first usage, after that it goes to hell.
I was hoping that this last camera update will somehow fix that bug or whatever the problem is with my phone, but no, it did not.
So for anyone who still wants to update to FP2, in my oppinion, stick to FP1 because with that OS, the phone is perfect !!!

If you are searching for Swype, try to search for one that runs of FP2. There are some applications that are designed for FP2. The version of Swype i am using is version 1.00(19197).

i' m asking cos seems lots of people wish to go back to fp1 after updating to fp2...

I have manually installed the updates by transferring the files to my phone by BT and installing them. I have seen a tremendous improvement to the camera mostly. It is clearer and also so far i have noticed in a darker environment that the red eye effect is no longer there but yet to confirm from a photo i will take in the dark. Unfortunately, still it has no front camera update. As for the gallery, it is back to normal and what is more, whatsapp has been added to the list you can transfer photos to plus there is a short cut at the bottom when one wants to add single or multiple photos to a multimedia message.

About the post related to the Gallery and Camera update for FP2, you will see that on that forum many people say that they can't access the update or no update shows up either on Nokia Suite or on their phone through the SW Update option. Maybe Nokia will roll out for all product codes this update but if you don't want to wait too long for it you can install the update manually like shown here:

I tried this for my Nokia 701 and it worked very well. Just download the .zip archive with all the files, connect your phone using Nokia Suite and install manually all files and after that just restart your phone and there you will have the update.

JD Prasad, 02 Mar 2013This is regarding usage of USB OTG cable for Nokia 701 mobi... moreif you are using an original accessory then it should not be a problem as the original adapter can read up to 120 gb hard disk. And i use my 16 gb regularly.
Try to back up your 8gb pen drive and then format and then read it. It will work

This is regarding usage of USB OTG cable for Nokia 701 mobile. When I connect 2GB USB pen drive to the mobile using this cable, the File Manager is able to detect all the files in pen drive and I'm able to open the files easily. If 8GB USB pen drive is connected, the File Manager is not opening the files and it displaying "Opening Files..." even after 15 minutes. Will there be any memory limit for USB pen drive for using. Any body please through some light on this issue. Thank you.
