i've g0t it jst few days back! Its a very nyc ph0ne! Specialy video player nd d0lby dgtal s0und is aws0m! Bt bettry lyf is very p0or! I've 2 charge it 2times a day! :(

nokia 701 is really a good one phone. but there i no anroid features present.

hello guys,,,i've been using 701 for past 7 months and i like everything about this lovely gadget...
i've noticed that when i click on the mute button during a call,,the menu key light turns to red.But after updating mine to belle feature pack 2,that red light is no longer easily visible,now it's not so brighter as it used to be,it's hardly visible inside a dark room.earlier this red light used to be really very bright..Is it a firmware issue or there is some hardware issue with my particular handset......Are you guys having the same issue...plz check yours and leave a reply,....

very nice phone.very fast than N8.Smooth handling.n8 is just a camera phone bt 701 has all the important features.

AnonD-5502, 30 Jul 2012got both phone...play any hd video but same time on both...... moreEven i've got a C7 and 701 and the reason why m speaking here is cos i've checked both too.....
check both fones in a dark room and u'l notice that Amoled's Black is a deep black compared to 701 even tho it has clear black display.
The other colours are deeper too compared to 701.
The Amoled was replaced with LED-backlit IPS TFT on 701 as its easily available and cheaper (Cheaper doesnt mean its bad)
LED-backlit IPS TFT is a good improvement over the LCD that we had some a few years back so yes as you mentioned as times change things improve and not get worst but these are 2 diff technologies between Amoled and LED-backlit IPS TFT
Amoled have improved too with Super Amoled now coming in
and the LED-backlit IPS TFT between Iphone and 701 differ big time in quality
(No personal grudges mate just sharing my piece of knowledge too as i've worked for IBM R&D team for television sets which are more or less similar)

my phone is great after updating feature pack 1 ,.. It doesn't heat and working fine.. Thnx nokia..

i am not saying n8,s display quality is poor...
But u have to accept that things change with time...and 701 is best exmpl of that,,,no one can say that ips led has poor quality than amoled,,,,things get better with time not worse

701 is once of the best LCD around but its no comparison to the AMOLED screen of N8/C7
Check out the contrast difference between both before to compare or comment and also
N8 may not be bright as 701 but the contrast is amazing
and also 701 is no longer 1000nits as it was suppose to be during the initial testing, the official fone that was launched was a lot less than 1000 nits

AnonD-47123, 28 Jul 2012Is it the right time to buy this phone ?? because I like t... moredude I'm using 701 from past 9months till now i did not get any problem my friends r using android phones they can't play all formats of videos they need to download a videoplayer for playing videos of some formats not only that suddenly their phones will get hang out so i I'll suggest u to go for it without any second thought:-)

Range is not good compared to nokia 603. Cannot play all formats, while 603 can. Signal range is not as good as 603. Same is with sound, in call sound is having bass instead of clarity. Belle Fp1 update is failing, seems my phone is havng a code written int the initial phase of developemnt. I exchanged my 603 to buy this phone. bot now in complete mess :(

If one should buy the Nokia 701 now, will it come with the latest update Fp1? If no, can one update to Fp1 immediately before using it? Tanx 4 ur reply i am from Nigeria.
