Yes if you get the phone with a previous firmware, you could always come back or ugrade the firmware right away from Nokia Care Center.
Handsfree Headset, and all the other basic equipment for this phone is included.

I will go and check out from the Nokia dealers for the latest firmware available, or they can upgrade there and then on the purchase of the set. If its not availabe now so should buy it or wait for them to get the v4.01 or can do it latter also? Should i buy any extra enhancement along with the phone like a headset or the provided enhancements are good enough ?

So far this phone has no current same-level rival, and this phone won't be outdated in a while, so basically this phone is recommendable.

Hi All,
I am planning to buy Nokia 7710 this week end . I am from New Delhi India. This will be my first Smartphone. Any body can please tell me how's the phone, should i go for it? And from where in New Delhi India i will get the latest Firmware 4.01 phone, are the phones now coming with v4.01?

The phone can read PDF files if you have PDF+ reader, It can also read MS Word via Documents.

No, 7610 has a different Theme Structure, and the output .sis file cant be read on your 7710, since the 7710 has the new Symbian Version, there are many third-party sites, still developing compatible Themes.

Sim Card Error, is only brought up when you enter invalid codes, if you did try reformatting your phone, if you didn't try to restore to factory settings via Control Panel, and should fix the problem*, but sometimes this will not fix the problem, because phones, especially Nokias, made a different memory storage, just incase you mess around with the phone, and they will know if they access it when you go through warranty. Now if you did input the some kind of code, it might have been registered in the memory I was talking about, and that would make the reformatt useless.

Hi guys,got my phone's firmware upgraded today(From 3.02 to 4.01)..Ah!!! Its such a darling now...No more hang-ups,crashes,errors,etc...
It works without a hitch,and it has become somewhat faster as well...And some features are also added..
The camera has been upgraded to 1.23 megapixels(Approx.)..
Its cooooool!!!!

Had my 7710 for 4 months. Already had it replaced twice. Now, when I switch on it says sim card error, insert sim card.
Any suggestions, before I throw the thing away !!

especially, in indonesia, there so little amount people use this phone, so it looks so exclusive if u use it in Indonesia.
Handwriting recognizing can use easily than sony ericsson P series. It's so nice!

There are a few sites that give free themes but N7710 is not listed there at all

As far as I know, the newest PicoDrive, has eliminated the chances of crashing, and gotten stable.
The comparisons of these phones,
"Nokia 7710, Sony Ericsson p910i, Sonyericsson k750i or Qtek s100" varies,
If you are looking for Music, I suggest the excellency of the sound produced by Nokia 7710, the rest doesn't match. Screen display, Nokia 7710, also wins this.
Camera, Sony Ericsson k750i, then Nokia 7710.
The rest of the phones are just garbage.

Thanks for the input.
I had been able to resolve the issue through a different method. I thought let me share it with you (and others)
I guess, while doing the data transfer, the communication has got disturbed, thereby causing the USB drivers to crash,
This had stopped the PC to install the virtual port Com4.
I almost used the same technique that you suggested (restore) but I removed the USB drivers under the hardware device manager, rebooted the PC and installed fresh drivers from the restore CD.
and Ho !! it came back again :-)
So now i am back on track

Use PowerFile, use the 15-day trial wisely, if you already used the trial up, use ProfiExplorer.
Nokia 7710, is capable of viewing other fonts(TrueType Fonts, .ttf) I do not know exactly why Nokia couldn't pre-install it in the device;
1. You have to have some kind of a file explorer for this phone. (Try, ProfiMail by LonelyCats Game it has a File Explorer, and try PowerFile.)
2. Make a folder in the C:/ drive of the phone, called Fonts, i.e. C:/System/Fonts.(Note: You have to use the File Explorers, if you make it through Nokia Phone Browser, the phone will not read it.
3. Go to Windows Fonts, Start --> Control Panel --> Appearance and Themes --> Fonts
4. Copy the certain Font you need.
5. Paste it in the folder that you made.(Copy the .ttf file to MyDocs first, then use the File Explorer to move/copy in the Fonts Folder.
5. After putting it in the folder, soft-restart the phone.(Take out the battery after phone is off.)
6. Turn on the phone. To check if the phone reads it, go to Documents, and make a new Document go to Menu, Format, Font, and select the new Font; or just go to a SMS or Document that is already another font, and just view it, if it shows the font, then its working, if it shows squares, the phone didn't read the fonts.
If you want to change the Already Installed Fonts of the phone(Z:/System/Fonts)Use PowerFile to view it, and input your wanted Fonts in this folder. Now someimes its going to say an error, but its okay, try again, the only way it says that is because, Z:/ is the ROM drive, any mis-manuever, or altering, will result the phone to be a "Dead" phone, so basically DO NOT TOUCH THE ROM DRIVE!!!

And No MORE Shout OUTS about softwares, if you have any problem with your phone not functioning well with installed softwares, then maybe you can post it here, thats why there is a FORUM for this site.

hi der guyz. iv now downloaded the PICODRIVE and ive downloaded a ROM in emu-russia.km.ru but its still not functioning! can someone here tell me where to put the ROM file to be read by the PICODRIVE. tnx!!

No not at the moment, the phone does not support FM Radio Alarm. But this phone will not be outdated in a while, so recommended to try and buy.

Try to do a System Restore, and from your phone delete the last transfered file(s), then turn off your phone, take out the battery, and once rebooted, try to connect, if Nokia Browser, doesn't open, and if the computer doesn't make the "New Hardware Detection Sound", or Nokia PC Suite, doesn't open,
hold
Ctrl + Alt + Del
and look for Nokia Associated files, all the nokia programs, that runs, if all the Nokia programs are shut, restart the computer, once its rebooted, turn it off(this method does a refresh on hardwares and processor) Connect the cable to the computer, then connect to the phone, then Turn On the computer(the phone has to be connected before turning on the computer), once it loads, try to transfer the file.
If it doesn't recognize, take out the cable and plug it in again, and wait for the sound.
