    No software shout-outs please!!
    Find softwares at:
    http://www.nokiapower.com
or contact me for the newest SmartMovie

No not at the moment, the phone does not support FM Radio Alarm. But this phone will not be outdated in a while, so recommended to try and buy.

    To: Arun

Try to do a System Restore, and from your phone delete the last transfered file(s), then turn off your phone, take out the battery, and once rebooted, try to connect, if Nokia Browser, doesn't open, and if the computer doesn't make the "New Hardware Detection Sound", or Nokia PC Suite, doesn't open,
    hold
    Ctrl + Alt + Del
and look for Nokia Associated files, all the nokia programs, that runs, if all the Nokia programs are shut, restart the computer, once its rebooted, turn it off(this method does a refresh on hardwares and processor) Connect the cable to the computer, then connect to the phone, then Turn On the computer(the phone has to be connected before turning on the computer), once it loads, try to transfer the file.
If it doesn't recognize, take out the cable and plug it in again, and wait for the sound.

Try these, if it doesn't work, contact me for further details.

**The new Internet Explorer, is out on Beta, IE7, contact me to try it out.

        Hi WK/Castillo

I am back with a peculiar problem
Until an hour ago, my 7710 was well connected to my PC. I was transferring some files and all of a sudden, the PC lost connectivity with the 7710.
I am now unable to connect the handset at all !!
These are my observations and actions
        1) Under the connection options, I am not getting the COM4 option for connecting the phone.
        2) When i select the "Data transfer" icon on the 7710, it doesnt open. It just opens the desktop back
        3) I uninstalled and reinstalled the PC Suite application, uninstalled and reinstalled the USB drivers for the PC
4)Restarted the PC quite a number of times.

        But no go :- (
        What could be wrong?
In order to isolate the problem i will have to wait till tuesday to connect the 7710 to a different computer but I cant wait.
I have kinda become addict to the 7710 and hence want to rectify this at the earliest

        Please help

        Thanks

        Arun

                          To: Arun

Obviously you are running apps, that eats out memory, Images tends to eat memory like Web Browser, so you need to close some programs before running each one, preferebly run programs one at a time.

                          To: kheng

Nokia 7710 can support, 3pg, mpeg-1, mpeg-2, mpeg-3, RealMedia(7,8), and .Avi(Smartmovie), but at the moment it doesnt support mpeg-4, you would have to use Smartmovie or DVD Player to view it.

                              Hi WK

If i work for long on videos or photos or any other graphical applications, i will not be able to use any other applications and i get a message "Not enough memory please try later" Once I get this, the only way out is to reboot.
I guess this is a bug?
                              the firmware version is 4.01

Please let me know if this is also a common problem or if there is a workaround for the same.

                              Thanks

If you are talking about MPEG-4(Video), currently no, there are ways to put plug-ins in the phone to view unsupported format, mp4.ddl, now if you know how to get that plugin, use your file explorer to embed it in(place it in a certain folder)
Other than that try SmartMovie instead, much safer.

The only Nokia phone that I have that plays MP4 is a N90, and it is reasonable, the fact that it has a faster processor...etc

                                      To: nokia7710...bummer

                                      Nokia 7710, is capable of viewing other fonts(TrueType Fonts, .ttf) I do not know exactly why Nokia couldn't pre-install it in the device;
                                      1. You have to have some kind of a file explorer for this phone. (Try, ProfiMail by LonelyCats Game it has a File Explorer, and try PowerFile.)
                                      2. Make a folder in the C:/ drive of the phone, called Fonts, i.e. C:/System/Fonts.(Note: You have to use the File Explorers, if you make it through Nokia Phone Browser, the phone will not read it.
                                      3. Go to Windows Fonts, Start --> Control Panel --> Appearance and Themes --> Fonts
                                      4. Copy the certain Font you need.
                                      5. Paste it in the folder that you made.(Copy the .ttf file to MyDocs first, then use the File Explorer to move/copy in the Fonts Folder.
                                      5. After putting it in the folder, soft-restart the phone.(Take out the battery after phone is off.)
                                      6. Turn on the phone. To check if the phone reads it, go to Documents, and make a new Document go to Menu, Format, Font, and select the new Font; or just go to a SMS or Document that is already another font, and just view it, if it shows the font, then its working, if it shows squares, the phone didn't read the fonts.
