Recently purchased 7710. Good phone however a little heavy. Overall good performance. Sound should have been a bit louder.

Thanks for the help. If I get this one, I will be taking it back to the US with me to run on T Mobil. Hope it will function. Need to contact them first. So long as it can handle an email client, I can push the email from our Domino server to the phone. With my current moto, I can do it by the phone number@tmo.....com but the space is verrry limited.

Just left my phone in the service centre for new firmware.will take 24 hours b4 i take my phone back-but tommorow at about that time ill make a post about how the new fw is working on the phone.

Thanks for your comments Castillo (my PC has been a bit sick). You cannot easily upgrade the firmware yourself. You need specialised equipment. Take your phone to a nokia care centre.
The phone is about as fast as my 6600 (maybe faster) and speed improves with each firmware upgrade, as does stability. Also, make sure you use Switcher (Task manager isn't as good) and dont have the memory card almost full (you can also defrag it in a card reader, but I'm not sure how much benfit that gives).

Great phone.
Keeps freezing. Very Slow in comparission to my imate & P910i.
How can I get firmware version installed on my phone & where can i download latest version?

Depending on your location, Nokia firmware updates are limited, i.e. not as current as other region releases.
At your area, 3.5 is the current version.

Sorry for the delay but I've sent you the pictures, and to get your device flashed to the newest efficient firmware, you would have to meet the requirements and be at a Nokia Care Center. Since these phones are not yet USA released* the Nokia Care Center would be located Internationally, you should send it to a fmaily member across country and have them check for a Nokia Care Center.
Requirements:
Proof-Of-Purchase, Reciept of some kind to prove you bought the phone, a valid 12-month warranty period.
Or Pay the fee.

I'm using 7710 nokia, it's pretty cool set but it require smart 2.76 movie player which valid for a minimun time only.
So, i'll be very thkful if someone or anyone help me in getting the right serial for my cell.

Does nokia 7710 support email(incoming/outgoing) over ssl/tls i.e i want to configure gmail on it, which will need pop3 over ssl n smtp over tls, so does nokia 7710 support them by default, has anyone used gmail with 7710?
How abt the VPN connections, does nokia 7710 support connecting to Aventail vpn servers?how are your experiences connecting to VPN networks using 7710?

Another thing, Nokia loaded my phone with fw version 3.50. They said this is the latest one they have. Anyone running fw 3.50?
Any feedback?

I wud like to share my experience with Nokia 7710. I bought this phone a few days it was lauched here last March. Like most of you i find it slow and occasionally hangs. I must admit im kinda abusive on discovering the features and capabilities of this phone by loading a lot of stuff like multimedia, games, and applications. Last month my phone just hanged and a message appeared that its firmware was corrupted after restarting it then would not load anymore. So I went to Nokia care center for reloading of fw and hoping they already have a newer firmware. They flashed the fw v3.26. This did not fix the problem and it became worst it restarts / shutsdown by itself. So i had to return it to the service center. Now they already replaced the board with a new one which has diff imei number.
I want to think that this is just a bad luck and hav thought of selling this but with the good experiences Im reading here i would still want to stick to this phone. Another reason is that there is no other phone that comes close to it for now. It is still the best phone in the market. I hope we can expand 7710 supporters by exchanging and updating everyone with new free/full version softwares.
Witchking, do you have the full version of the games you mentioned like skyforce, minner, etc. please send me a copy please please. . . I hav tried the demo version of these and they ROCK, the coolest things. Picodrive has a newer version that already has audio enabled for some of the games. For file management, use the powerfile. For themes, the OS_X handango looks great. also the switcher is very useful

Thanks for the firmware update. My phone has a key that is dying, so as soon as I'm sure vodaphone has 4.01, then I'll get it replaced.
Oh and people asking for cracked versions of software, I would not recommend doing that here. I am happy to send links to my-symbian and themes and such like, but dont ask for pirate software on an open site and then post your e-mail address or you risk getting nailed.
Have never tried wifi on this phone and I'm not sure it suppports it, but if I find out I'll let you know. Sorry.
