Xaiomi or realme are better option.. even if they have their custom UI, it still provide much better functions than nokia devices.. HMD should wake up now if they want to survive.. m

Home button hangs sometimes and there is a bit of problem with the proximity sensor while calling. Otherwise the handset is smooth.

I wish this was still a metal unibody design, with SD7xx at least. Could have been a really good upgrade from Nokia 7 plus. Tsk tsk.

Anonymous, 05 Jan 2020One advice to you bro buy Xiaomi phone It is better for yo... moreWhen I am able to express so many things here, didn't I know what is best for me and what to do? When I talk about learning things, you talk about earning money. Anyhow, thank you very much for your advice. As you've said, I shall buy a Xiaomi phone. Can you do anything about it? There are plenty of people, even professionals who use Xiaomi phones. Why not Xiaomi have their fan boys, when Nokia has some like you? To be honest, I am not a fan of any mobile brand. Instead of saying something in favor of someone, try to do something in favor of the society at large. Through my spec sheet, I hope many of the readers here, have understood the missing links of Nokia 7.2 and many other mobile devices from various manufacturers. I have truly expressed about the so called PERFORMANCE of a midrange mobile device. I believe that my messages will definitely be heard by HMD and other mobile manufacturers around the gllobe. Thanking you once again for your valuable reply.

Subramanian CN, 04 Jan 2020If I am a manufacturer my spec sheet for a Midrange Android... moreOne advice to you bro buy Xiaomi phone
It is better for you it is cheap, a good plastic build quality(it will work for many years).
It will have a good battery life 4000 mah (you can use your phone for 2-3 days)
It will be of Great CUSTOM UI with good amount of bloatwares that is really awesome.
And last but not the least a best processor which will work for longer runs no matter you will get software updates or not but your processor will work for longer runs that's what you need.
A great camera (without Zeiss optics) because zeiss optics according to you there is no difference.
So my friend a incredible offer for you is to buy A XIAOMI PHONE - A awesome alrounder phone a flagship killer( as Xiaomi fan boy says)
                                  Best of luck.

If I am a manufacturer my spec sheet for a Midrange Android phone would be:

                                    1. NO NOTCH Super AMOLED FHD 1080p display with Clear Black Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection with minimal bezels ( like that of Meizu 16T ). This NO NOTCH display would definitely help the device to stand tall in the crowd. Moreover, it would definitely add a professional touch to the device.
                                    2. GOOD PLASTIC casing with NO glass back ( no aluminum, to reduce cost since, I'm talking about a midrange phone and not a flagship device ). Glass back has no meaning when most of us protect our devices with an additional case protector. GOOD PLASTIC is the one which can be found on Xiaomi Mi Pad 1 and the like.
                                    3. Snapdragon 670 processor. Snapdragon 670 is an excellent costly SOC specially made for Pixel 3A. If SOC 670 falls short in supply or if it exceeds the estimated budgeted cost of the device, then SOC 730 becomes the alternative.
                                    4. 6 GB RAM with 128 GB UFS internal memory. Just one variant 128 GB is sufficient since managing two memory variants costs money. No SD card slot (helps to reduce costs) because today's SD cards are not reliable. To transfer files, one can use USB pen drives.
                                    5. No Android One branding since, Android One licensing has its own cost associated ( I think it is nearly as high as 30 % of sales). Simple Pure Android helps to reduce "Android One" branding costs. I would provide necessary security updates and one Android update (only one) because, 90 percent of the phones don't last for more than 2 years.

                                    6. MAIN CAMERA:

Sony 12 MP, f/1.6, 26mm (wide), 1/2.55", 1.4µm, predictive Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS
                                    Sony 12 MP, f/2.4, 52mm (telephoto), 1/3.4", 1.0µm, PDAF, 2x optical zoom, OIS
                                    Sony 12 MP, f/2.4, 16mm (ultrawide), 1/3.4", 1.0µm
Quad LED dual-tone flash, panorama, HDR

                                    VIDEO:
                                    2160p@30fps, 1080p@60/30fps (gyro-EIS)

                                    SELFIE CAMERA
                                    Sony 8 MP, f/2.0, 24mm (wide), 1/4", 1.12µm, HDR
                                    VIDEO:
                                    1080p@30fps

The above stated cameras reduce Zeiss branding costs but, are definitely costlier than the present cameras of Nokia 7.2. Adjustments are made by reducing build quality and avoiding branding costs.

Though Samsung manufactures 48, 64, 108 MP cameras, they haven't employed it in any of their flagship devices. Why? Because, they are SIMPLY MEDIOCRE. The same is with Sony.

                                    7. SOUND:
Stereo Speakers situated on both sides like that on a Asus ROG phone.
24 bit/192 kHz audio. Dolby Atmos sound.
                                    3.5mm jack.
No headphones out of the box ( to reduce cost).
                                    8. USB 3.1 Type C 1.0 reversible connector
                                    9. NO NFC since it is a midrange device (helps to reduce costs). Those who need NFC can opt for some other brands.
                                    No IR,
                                    No Notification light
                                    10. Sensors: Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass
                                    11. Li-Po 4000 mAh battery. (Though pure Android devices don't drain battery like other custom UI's, bigger the size of the battery would definitely help in improving sales.)
                                    12. The device would support fast charging, though a fast charger would not be provided with the device, to reduce costs.

Negative reviews for the above device would be about build quality, omission of fast charger, no headphones and the like. I will not mind it because, even the best flagship devices have their own set of complaints. But, the device would be a great performer in all aspects. A ceramic cup/saucer would break obviously, if we drop it. We have to handle it with care. Even a mobile with solid aluminum body would break, if it is subjected to. Hence the plastic build doesn't matter. There are always choices for those who complain about the build quality (Choose some other brand). Camera strength has become the ultimate driving factor in pushing the sales of a midrange phone. An excellent display with excellent cameras accompanied by a good SOC will definitely do wonders. I truly believe that I can price this device competitively in the range, Rs. 15000 - Rs. 20000.

To my belief, flagship devices should differ from midrange devices only in terms of the following:

                                    1. Build quality
                                    2. Processor/SOC
                                    3. Higher Resolution display > FHD
                                    4. More Storage and RAM
                                    5..In-display fingerprint scanner
                                    6. NFC
                                    7. Inclusion of Fast Charger or wireless charger
                                    8. More cameras like the ones on Nokia 9 PureView, etc.
