Mine is the TA-1012 variant from the UK. I think the blue tint bothers me more because I am used to a warmer colour temperature on my ZUK phone. I use my device 95% of the time indoors and the blue tint can be quite uncomfortable in that environment.

Yes, so in response to your message, as a matter of fact I actually managed to purchase a second hand 64GB model last week in almost as-new condition for £65 GBP, though I have only had the phone in my possession for 2 days so far.

The phone is good, except it has been hurting my eyes a bit, maybe it'll just take time getting adjusted to it. The main issue I have right now is that the display calibration has quite a strong blue tint. I saw lots of reviewers mentioning this online, it's normal for this phone. But there are no built-in settings to adjust the colour temperature which seems like a big flaw. I tried using the "Night Light" feature to counterbalance it, but even on the most minimum setting it makes the screen too orange.

I think to calibrate the colours properly would require me to install a custom ROM or kernel with KCAL support. Then I could adjust the RGB values and saturation of the display to my own preferences. Trouble is, the free Nokia bootloader unlocking doesn't work anymore, so you have to do it via a third-party seller at a fee. And now I am understanding that if the security patch is updated past 2018 then bootloader unlocking won't work without a firmware downgrade. So it's a hassle I did not expect to encounter.

Hello there. I bought this phone for my girl one year ago. It was a second hand business but the phone wasnt used at all and the price130 euro, quite good price for the specs. Its a good phone, i was nervous after reading some opinons about the problems nokias phone had. Its true that sometimes the phone restarts randomly, it happened maybe 7 times in the year. The sound is real rubbish, i must say that i hate how it feels in high volumes. No problems with the charger, but sometimes the phone doesnt charge. Maybe two times happened in the year. But is a decent phone, but i wouldnt pay too much for it. My evaluation 7.5/10

My Nokia 8 battery died mid last year due to intensive usage and playing mainly PUBG, where can I buy a brand new original battery? Because clearly Nokia doesn't have a Better Phone to replace this one. Maybe Nokia 9 Pure View but noo!

Hello, I was really happy with this phone until it gradually became unusable. Can someone recommend a good phone with the same specs? Cause I'm never buying a Nokia ever again.

When possible, try checking out for a brand new model since all the used models have a lot of defects. I think it's worth the trouble, finding a phone wherever possible at a time it's discontinued.

                        Stay safe!

Here on eBay the second-hand ones sell for around £120 for a 128GB variant. But they don't come up too often, and most have scratches of some kind. Amazon are selling brand new 64GB model for £400 which is totally ridiculous...

Oh and about U11, I tried to sell the phone in an online auction but the buyer has still not made payment after several days. So, currently I still have the phone in my possession, and most likely I will need to relist it a second time to try and sell it. But maybe that's a good thing if it allows me chance to sell it for more money.

I found one person whose whole family has second hand Nokia phones with faulty charging ports (my phone has no issues at the moment, since I bought it brand new). My advice is that better to check a brand new Nokia 8 at a small shop at a mall or even the city, and I wouldn't advice you to buy online because of price gougers and listings full of misinformation

Yes a brand new one would be better, but I am not sure where I would find one at a reasonable price. Most sites that still have brand new stock are asking far too much for a phone that is over 3 years old... I have yet to find one on the second-hand market. It seems the version with 128GB storage is more difficult to obtain.

p.s. I have this phone (bought brand new last year) and it's the best phone I've ever used.

Just to write here with my thoughts. Currently I have a Lenovo ZUK Z2 with Snapdragon 820, and have desperately been looking for an upgrade to this phone after over 4 years of usage.

Unfortunately, the smartphone market spiralled into a deterioration that lead to many awful traits in almost all modern phones. Now, every phone released is completely oversized with a 6.5" screen and tall aspect ratio, and mostly with OLED displays using intense PWM flickering that cause headaches and eyestrain. They have ugly notches and punchhole selfie cameras, and removed the 3.5mm headphone jack so that listening to music is no longer possible without an adapter dongle.

This led me to the Nokia 8, which on paper seems to be the only phone that does everything right. 5.3" screen is the perfect size and it also uses 16:9 aspect ratio, so is not overbearing and difficult to use with one hand. Weight is also light at 160g. It has IPS display (with QHD resolution) and good pixel response times according to testing on other websites.

So, I am hopeful that I will become owner of this phone very soon as long as I can find one for sale on the second-hand market in excellent condition. :)
