Anonymous, 24 Jan 2013Nokia 808 now officially REST IN PEACE what do you say caro... moreI'd say that you need to learn to read. There won't be any new Symbian phone. But nobody said that there won't be further Symbian support. And Symbian will have support and updates till 2016, at least... I think is enough for any gadget lover to still buy Symbian phones...

As for your phone, i'm glad you managed to change it. Now waiting for feedback. Apparently there are some people questioning if they will have this problem or not. You are the best to tell them, if the problem persist:)

Jai, 27 Jan 2013Hi everybody, Symbian is not going anywhere. With active u... morethat's true jai,
symbian cannot be removed completely. Nokia will be still developing the software.

Yes everyone loves to play games and use cool apps. But the first is hardware. One cannot buy a handset just because it has temple run 2 wifi hot spot etc. But firstly the essence of having a mobile has to be fulfilled.

I have my 808 it satisfies my mobile needs and my friend has s3 who he has the app and games but not happy with camera and sound etc

                          Hi everybody,
Symbian is not going anywhere. With active user base of more than 100million(as per Jan 2013) any OS is far from Dead. And more and more apps are hitting Nokia Store now. Go check yourself. On Internet people have started loudly telling Nokia that how much they love Symbian. Even I called up Nokia just to tell them this and they acknowledged that "we are getting some feedback regarding this from our esteemed customers now"

May be all Symbian fans (others may look from fence) should tell Nokia that they still love Symbian. For it is still more efficient and well-designed OS than Android and iOS.

                          Good Luck!
                          -(Proud owner of 808 & N8)

One of the app that is very badly needed in Symbian touch phones is an all in one player like "Coreplayer" in non touch ones. Also there should be an official option to turn off/on the platform security.

AnonD-12116, 26 Jan 2013ya mate.....we'll see...what will happen? Do u have this... moreunfortunately not.....not yet:) however 808 its on high priority:) almost two years now i have an N8. Honestly i haven't seen any other device so particular like pure view. Even if Nokia release in the future a lumia pure view with 41 mp or even more it won't be the same! 808 has received excellent comments not here at gsm arena but also in my country, Greece (also the same when n8 was released). 808 is already a collectors item! Be proud to have it and enjoy it! Greetings from Athens to you and to all friends here. Take care.
