just came from a vacation were 99% of people there use their cell phones for taking pictures and upload to social networks was a very funny to compare photos of my 808 side by side with my mates S3 specially @night
- After the first 3 days the S3 became completely useless at night and the main camera was the 808 , we even didn't bother taking our digital camera and everyone was concerned about did u charged ur phone did u take ur phone please email me my picture ....etc :D :D :D
Another thing.. after returning i put my HDMI watching videos and images on a BIG Screen 40" with dolby surround sound system OH MY DEAR GOD am living the moments live again Amazing Sound quality Bass is Superb Clarity is amazing While the Zoom during videos makes u think thats a pro camera shot the scene but NO that was the MAGNIFICENT Nokia 808 Pureview
Yes its ain't faster and have dozen of apps and games like the S3 but in real fun times as i mentioned above the 808 was the real winner, now after being home my friend is showing new games and apps to me to make up for his loss hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

iSJ5, 28 Aug 2012wow! its that true? so its mean its better to buy this fone... moreindeed! my 808 is my video player(1080p support and dolby sound), video recorder, camera, GPS nav/maps, mobile browser(youtube,etc), music player(aux/earphones/via radio transmitter). And to add that its also a Nokia Phone.
Only downside is thats its heavy. Lets say 4 years from now this phone will still have a decent camera and gps since its lifetime and offline navigation. meaning you can use it without even having a simcard in it.
will your s3 have a better shelf life like 808? look at sgs1. is its hardware like camera and video playback still usable at todays standard?

Nokia 808 pureview is an excelent handset.picture quality and batt life time is very good also looking gorgious.

it has really good phone..
camera has super clarity....
But touch has been not good work.
First days we can see it was good. Later more week, you can seem that were a wrost phone...

Hi, I bought this phone recently and what can I say is that camera is really great. I was comparing picture against picture Nokia 808 with many cameras and found only 3 which keep up. 9000$ 40mpx Pentax 645d, 3000$ 40mpx Nikon D800 and one 1200$ Olympus. Other cameras failed in details against Nokia.
On the other side there other features in DSLR cameras like zooom which are missing in Nokia.
It has 1/1.2" sensor, so it is quite easy to find limits during low light conditions. But anyway installed xenon flash is great too, very nice colors.
Video is simply superb. Great details, colors and CD quality sound..
Other big advantages are worldwide UMTS, nice bright AMOLED display, great sound.
From the phone side it is really under average. Stability of Symbian Belle is terrible, phone has issues with WiFi, 3G, crashing, showing full memory message.
You can't even share taken pictures, because limit for attachment in internal mail client is 2700MB and 38mpx pictures are 10 - 18MB.
So the result is that for 600$ you will get camera worth 1000$, HW of phone worth of 400$ and OS worth 50$...
