the 808pv was released here in south africa beging of july and up till now i haven't even seen 1 media advert(television,radio or magazine).looks like nokia has no intrest in makerting this amazing device while the lumia range enjoyed a very agressive marketing stratergy,television competitions and all.really can't wait to get my 808pv.only 5more weeks to go.

AnonD-5465, 04 Aug 2012dude , 808 is the last , no high end symbian device again, ... moreI Agree with you each person to his/her own usage of phone if someone want a Smartphone he/she can go for Android (not Iphone) don't know why you mentioned icrap its useless if compared to Android and if you like camera phone you can go for Nokia 808Pureview but Smartphone for gaming & Multimedia usage Nokia is simply Cameraphone but video & pictures will come out really high end thanks to Carl Zeiss. Anybody knows that nokia got unexpectdly high orders to produce more 808 Pureviews worldwide.I think nokia haters who are commenting on this site also buying this phone. This phone is just rocking.

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2012you are wrong.pure view is not the last symbian device cuz ... moredude , 808 is the last , no high end symbian device again, i am mentioning the device not the coming symbian updates, also symbian is getting one last update which is the Belle fp2 after that nothing
so be aware of what u want in a device, camera pictures videos sound = 808pureview Apps games surfing = iphone or any high end android
for me am happy with the 808 i love phtography also i can do twitter via tweetian facebook via facinate and email is perfect too some video calls over 3g and wifi via fring messaging via whatsapp so thats i use thats why i got 808

fred, 03 Aug 2012yes there is a purpe tint in some of the new nokia 808purev... moreheyy i got my nokia808 one day bk n i love it, no purple tint problem, i chkd for long bfor i bot it, thr ws white n black, i got the black one. The screen is rly good, no purple tint problem, i chekd a white 808 to and it also dint hv it, ppl hv reportd d prob but its vry less. I got mine clean n i love it

[deleted post]Owning this phone doesn't automagically make you any better photographer. Neither does owning any other phone. Nor any other DSLR. It helps to have good equipment, but the hard work is on the one holding the camera. Props to Sea Breeze! :-)

[deleted post]You can buy a high end DSLR worth $2,000 USD and yet still take bad photo stills. It takes a good eye and a good hand to take good photos.
At least he got 38-34MP worth of bad photos, much more than 12MP worth of bad photos. :-)
