isa_pah, 11 Apr 2012looks like a vibrator!!! cant wait to use itNO WAY! THIS IS TOO BIG!
Epic comment there! Well, it DOES HAVE a vibrating function. How you want to use it is up to you (if you know what I mean). ;)

Anyway, why use an expensive device for such... *ehem*... "matters"? ;)

yep, emulator is used for those. still it uses the processor to run it on the pc you will be playing it with.

would there be an emulator for 3d games to be played on a lower spec hardware?

other topic, i dont know why android fans hate symbian, the only thing that android beats symbian is in the flash player, the rest of it sucks.., and only symbian phones have fm transmitter :)

Nokia has really done a great job this time.
nokia 808 has excellent camera (no rival in the near future)
                      optimum screen size,
but still needs little improvement over screen pixels density and battery strength in future.
belle IU is the best choice for many fone lovers.
to made this handset sure success, price should be set and fixed at minimum profits margin at the launched, instead of drastic price reductions every few weeks.

Anonymous, 11 Apr 2012en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalvik_(software) This is Android'... morei stated it as a whole concept, not just for Android. thats why i included depending on the architecture used.

One drawback of Android is its use of Dalvik VM to run native executions. I think they used Dalvik for copyright issues to Oracle/Sun. Anyway, example of this flaw is person A(user) needs to talk to person C(hardware), but he needs a middle man peron B(Dalvik) to talk to person C. thats a flaw for using VM...

All other OS i know has a capablity to talk to the hardware layer directly via its naive machine language.

*oooh brings back what i learned in CCS.

This is Android's solution AS WELL AS its problem. Although all apps are made possible through this, because it creates a virtual machine, it considerably slows down the execution. CMIIW.

As for the dual/multi core for Mobile apps. Developers "write" apps based on the current hardware available. You cant write a code for something that doesnt exist yet. So they are all basing it to single cores at first. Due to Androids Fragmentation, its really hard to code an app based on different hardwares which the OS is coded to run with. Thats why its harder for Devs to write Andoid apps due to fragmentation, if they want a seamless app they have to code for HTC, Samsung, etc. To avoid that they write it based on the most common hardware which is singe cores. Creating an App may take months or years if you follow SDLC. You must also consider compatibility, single cores optimized app can run on higher spec(depends on the architecture). But dual core apps cant run on a lower spec hardware(depends on architecture).

FYI you can run "retro-games" on a PC via emulators.

"Those apps cannot really take advantage of multiple cores."

To rephrase that line... "They CAN run, but are NOT OPTIMIZED to do so."

I was blown on the last paragraph. Famicom games on the PC? I assure you are using an emulator?

Speaking of 16-bit games on the PC, I still play Object on my 32bit XP partition.
