AnonD-2912, 23 Mar 2012 I'm currently using a Nokia n8 and all i can say is it's ... moreYes, the Symbian custom ROMs are very nice. Nokia should learn from them to further enhance their software. But I was only referring to the out-of-the box OS. Too bad for those who can't flash their phone.

I'm currently using a Nokia n8 and all i can say is it's ... moreVery briefly what I've got to say is this.. Nokia is one of the most durable (if not most durable) and reliable (if not most reliable) mobile phone makers on planet.. I could always drop my Nokia n8 without having to worry whether it'll work or not when i pick it up back.. But that's not the only reason that i buy Nokia.. The other major reason is symbian... Oh... I love this os.. Not all the things.. (web browsing symbian has to go a long way) But most of the features including excellent battery life..
According to the way that i enjoy my n8 today there's no single reason that avoids me of willing to have the successor of n8, pureview 808 beauty...!
Yeah.. I'm going to get you only for the camera itself since i well know what my n8 could do now...!
Long live Nokia... Long live symbian... Long live Nokia cameras with Carl Zeiss optics....!

AnonD-44031, 21 Mar 2012Some reasons why people stay in Symbian probably include th... more
I'm currently using a Nokia n8 and all i can say is it's a wonderful handset to have.. I enjoy every bit of it; from the camera to the multitasking abilities.. Right now I'm typing from my n8 as fast as i would type on my computer keyboard. (I'm using opera mini browser and listening to music through Nokia bh503 Bluetooth headset in the meantime..)
I still don't understand why people are so blind with symbian os.. Some have even stated rooting, custom Roms are advantages in android over symbian.. But I'm using a custom Rom in my n8 and I've been experimenting and using custom Roms for years with symbian.. If you don't know anything about symbian customization which is as versatile as android or May be even better; then please don't try to through your judgement..
And belle is something friends. Believe me since I'm not exaggerating the matter; belle has what it takes.. It's fast, light, beautiful and customizable.. (you should hack your phone or install a custom firmware, both are very simple when you get used to it).. Theme effects, very responsive and customizable menu grid, many no of home screens as you wish, unlimited real time call recording without beep, uncompressed photos & videos, superb multitasking (once i tried 41 apps at once) MOST IMPORTANTLY above all using very less hardware like 680 mhz processor & just 256 mb ram...!
After knowing all the above if someone is still saying symbian belle is bad, then he must be crazy...!

symbian is a nice Os,my SGS2 just got ICS and now dual core Is not enough, the Phone went lagging and really slow and funniest part Is that I cannot se any differens from Gingerbread except face unlock and other small thing,It could definately not have Purewiev on that with 4x and looseless zoom, android just need quad core to run smotly ICS and after that,no need for symbian to have dual core, thats powerful Os.

AnonD-39795, 22 Mar 2012In my Opinion, Symbian(Nokia) is the best OS for real phone... moreYes, Android's UI is cool, but when you have a lot of apps, they tend to get disorganized in the menu screen. I am not a fan of using widgets, or putting shortcuts in the homescreen unless I use them very often because they take up resources and add to the battery consumption.
I also think the best is Symbian. Sure, it is not as easy to use as iOS, but when it comes to optimizations and feature sets, I prefer what Symbian offers. Multitasking? I started doing that with my 7650, my first smartphone. Specs are important, but what matters more is how well they actually perform in real life. I didn't like WP7, and would probably give WP8 a chance, but if it is as limiting as WP7, then I would rather go for Android for its feature set if they will be abandoning Symbian.
Still I would prefer Symbian. More organized, optimized for less battery consumption, with an excellent feature set and it is the one that doesn't have much problems with fragmentation. Most apps are compatible across the higher OS versions (S60v3 and up). I am even using some apps for N8 in my N73. Now that is cool. :)
