Alui, 28 Feb 2012Take out the camera and what's left? Nothing! BTW, I checke... moreIt is a narrow depth of field compared to a dedicated camera, except the cheapest compact, but not compared to all other phones currently on production.
Regarding HDR, I bet you did not know that this phone has a dedicated processor for imaging and video only before the 1.3 mhz one get its turn. So, don't be that sure HDR will not be possible, but you are so quick to judge.

Alui, 28 Feb 2012Take out the camera and what's left? Nothing! BTW, I checke... morewell, looks like android users never read properly. please have a look again @ my previous post. I just can't keep repeating things again. @arun. cost of n808 approx- rs 30000 cost of dslr- rs 1,00,000 upwards(a descent one). cost of iphone 4s - rs 40000 . cost of samsung s2 - rs 27000. After having a look at the costs, have a look @ which phone gives effeciency, 41mp camera,doesnot require dual core for it is functioning. the camera of any smaartphone on this earth is incomparable to n808. Well @ arun, looks like comparing it with a dslr worth > rs 1,00,000 is infact a great credit to nokia n808. Well, you can't make calls with your dslr, you can't browse your web with dslr, you can't play games with your dslr. So compare things which can be compared.

AnonD-44273, 28 Feb 2012I would like to point out one small issue to everyone who i... moreMate, you are so obtuse and mean intended person. You begun reading something about imaging sensors and mega-pixels but what you got it all wrong. This phone has a sensor that you will never have in you compact camera. This is not a 4x3 mm sensor as you said, it is around 10.7x7.5 mm. Your dear droid would not dare to put such a sensor in their phones because they will lose their good-looking which is among the main important features of them. And tell me now what can your droid phone do and symbian belle cannot? Because otherwise I can tell and I would start with the camera where you are only playing catch-up.

Hi Friends!! the OS is mentioned as Nokia Belle instead of Symbian belle. Nokia is going to support Symbian with His own name.. Cheers!!!!!

Take out the camera and what's left? Nothing! BTW, I checked the unprocessed photos from the web. Problems:
-narrow depth of field(focus is good only for some limited interval distances),
-narrow light dynamic range(shadows are black).
-I doubt any HDR photography is possible(needs to combine at least 3, optimum 7, pictures). Just not enough processing power for a single 1.3 GHz core.
The demo pictures are post-processed. Presenting them as "real" pictures is pure lying.

[deleted post]The Nokia N8 is currently ranked as the #1 camera smartphone on the planet, so how you wanna compare an Iphone 4S to the 808 Pureview which supercedes that of the N8?
Get your facts straight Cryptic!

@arunt
Ok you buy that HTC of yours and i'm gonna buy this Nokia, in few years time well see who needs a new camera and phone wiseass, oh and do some reading on symbian history and it's current free developer development, the 41mpx camera will attract a lot of attention from developers and in time you'll see that the phone will be retarding only a bit faster than the droids, while it's camera quality will only improve(the same happened with all Symbians)

I would like to point out one small issue to everyone who is astonished by the megapixel size of the cam in this phone. it uses a sensor which is microscopic and to all those who compare this cam with a DSLR, I suggest you pleae do some sear about image quality and sensor size.The cheapest digital cameras use 1/3.6" (4x3mm) sensor and the cheapest DSLR uses 18x14mm sensor. By far the top range of image quality in a DSLR IS 36.1 in the recently anounced 36x24mm(full frame)sensor Nikon D800 which costs 3000Euros for the body only.I have seen posts in which people say there are cameras which crossed the 100MP mark, I agree, but being a photographer I can tell you those are medium format cameras like the ones from hasselblad which can produce images of upto 200 MP. My most important point is, rating a camera by a megapixel output is like buying a car only because you liked its color. I am sure that the tiny sensor in the nokia cannot give an image quality of a digital camera with a decent sized sensor, (forget the DSLRs thats impossible to put such a big sensor chip in a phone.). Look at the other features this phone offers and its all inferior to any decent smartphone in the market.bad battery, bad display, bad processor, bad RAM, CPU, and the list goes on. Well done nokia for 41 mp camera which is in the medium format area, and this bold anouncement. am sure nokia can fool people to buy this just as all the digital camera manufactures rate and sell the cameras bases upon the megapixel size. I do have a respext for Carl Zeiss optics ad I can tell you they are the best in the world (if you dont like leica) I think there is no point in having a camera which takes 41mp pictures with a bolted together sensor which turnes ouit to be only 1/1.2'' in size. If i wanted to buy a good cameraphone I would go for the newly anounced HTC oneX with a sensible 8MP cam with an aperture of 2.0. while nokia has an aperture of 2.4 (as i said earlier anone who is into pgotography will realise the difference) Good luck Nokia in getting to the market with another UNDER POWERED SIMBIAN.........

@shivam94
yup..think about galaxy R, having dual core tegra 2 cpu with 1 gb ram and it even lags when you add widegts to your homescreen and do not respond if u use it with wet hands..even the specs were nice but it's performance is like a nokia symbian 9.3 device having 600mhz cpu and 128 mb of Ram. So do not compare any phone with another untill you use it itself.
