Anonymous, 04 Aug 2013plz, can anybody tell which ones camera quality is better-8... moreFrom my point of view, Galaxy camera takes good pictures but they look like not truly real. I like the pictures of Nokia 808 Pureview and they look real with very less noise and distortion. I declare Nokia 808 the winner.

AnonD-172496, 05 Aug 2013Hello World. I am undecided about buying a Nokia 808 Purev... moreNot sure what you mean, but if you turn your phone to left, you get landscape. Turn back to right and there's portrait. But I think there's no landscape if you turn from portrait to right, only left (it's like that on N8).
There are way, way more Symbian apps than MeeGo apps.
They promised support until 2016 and we still get updates and fixes around once/month, but I don't know for how long. A week ago there was a big update for Maps for Symbian so I think they're still dedicated.
Well, I like Belle too, I tried iPhone and Android but to me it's the best looking, no-nonsense OS and also user-friendliest. :-)

        Hello World.
I am undecided about buying a Nokia 808 Pureview. Is it smooth and how many Landscape modes & Portrait modes are available?
I mean than can I turn the phone to right and still be able to get a portrait mode?
Is it a good phone ?
I wanna have it till 2016.... Will it get support by Nokia?
And are there more apps for Meego N9 than Symbian (Belle)?
I can afford a Nexus 4 , but I hate Android because it has got no long term support & doesn't have as much fun.
I don't know why , but I LOVE Symbian Belle.
        Please help.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2013Thanks mate. I have few doubts. Can the xenon flash be used... moreThere are some HDR apps, HDR Camera and HDR Pro Camera. But they produce smaller images. You can take 3 full-size photos using the bracketing mode in the default camera app, or with Harald Meyer's CameraPro, and he offers the HDR PC software for free on his website, here: http://www.tequnique.com/wb/pages/products/hdrpro.php

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2013Thanks mate. I have few doubts. Can the xenon flash be used... moreDont worry friend 808 pv has a seperate Led flash for torch and video light.
Range of xenon flash is about 4 metres (more than cheap cameras) .
For HDR there are apps in nokia store and pureviewclub.com so dont worry for hdr and panorama.

GO FOR 808 IT HAS EVERYTHING

I have recently decided to start something new - photography and i need an equipment for it. I think Nokia 808 is sufficient for the job. What's the range of the xenon flash of Nokia 808 PV? Most point and shoot cameras have 1/2.3'' sensor size which is a big disappointment. I want to do serious photography. Should i buy a Point and shoot camera or Nokia 808 PV? If Point and shoot, i am considering the Nikon Coolpix S9500 or Canon SX280. Please suggest.

Published on 3 August 2012 by Marc @PureViewClub

Some readers of this blog have been posting reactions suggesting that the Nokia 808 PureView produced in China would be inferior to the ones produced in Finland. Chinese versions would consist of “cheaper materials”. The accusations even go as far as claiming the Nokia 808 produced in China would not have an original Carl Zeiss lens. Asked for any proof to support these quite serious accusations, I received nothing however.

First I understand that people from Finland might want to see a Nokia phone produced there. But Apple is not manufacturing the iPhone in the US either, and there is nothing wrong with that hardware as we all know. Second, I’m not sure whether the Nokia 808 PureView is manufactured in Finland at all – as far as I know, the whole production is done in China in fact.

Last but not least: I know my Nokia 808 PureView is from China, and so is Damian Dinning’s – and he is Lead Program Manager Imaging Experience at Nokia. After I contacted him about these accusations , he wrote this fierce reply in one of the blogs where the accusations were made:

ALL Nokia products and the components within are made to exactly the same exacting specifications. Your claims are false and based on ZERO supporting information or facts.
                                      Damian Dinning – Nokia

Coming from Damian, it’s enough proof for me. I seriously urge those who have been writing these accusations to refrain from repeating them on this blog. Thank you.
