Nokia 8600 come with less accessories than the 8800 cause they want to lower the selling price & more people can afford it! but, although the price is lower, this phone is selling badly ... major reason I suppose must be the look; which is not even half as good looking nor as elegant as the 8800, period.

the only reason there is one battery not two is because its battery life is longer than the 8800. the 8800 gave awtay free bluetooth headsets so that they could sell. the 8600 is not as bad as you think.

Ear piece volume kind of on the low side & voice quality not as good as the 8800. Hands free speaker also not as good sound quality as 8800.

8800 also more simple & elegant looking.

Regarding lower price compare to the 8800, this 8600 package come only with one battery instead of two as in the 8800; and there is no charger stand nor bluetooth devise supplied in the package

FYI,keypad dimming on and off gadget is nothing new, it's been used in Sony Ericsson phones for quite a while already!!!

awesome phone, i dropped this glass screened phone and did not break it luckily :), things i like about this phone are; elegant, the steel case, the heavy weight, the "Luna" itself, if you know what it is. It is not named Luna by no reason, Luna is when the keypad are dimming on and off. it's so beautiful!!!!

                  I have both 8600 & 8800.
The 8600 is by far a better phone for these reasons:
8600 front side is far more resilient to scratching or denting.
                  8600 battery lasts far longer
8600 heats up LESS than the 8800
                  8600 has better camera/video
8600 interface and the such is more intuitive.

The 8800 is only better in ONE regard than the 8600. The 8800 is classier in that it's all metal. Because the 8600 is falt black in the back, it doesn't feel as expensive as the 8800.

Longer time ago I posted a quite negative message about this phone, mainly because of a specific situation (broken charger which I thought to be short life battery) which was solved in the meantime. So it would be only fair to come back with feedback on the excellent concept behind this phone that gives me such a great joy when using it! I am among those users that care less about thousands of features and more about owning a reliable phone that on top is great pleasure to use. I like the great choice of materials (glass, iron, all feeling great when touching), the sensation of top quality it delivers (even by the fact that it is a bit heavier that other plastic-made, cheaper look-like phones), the fact that exerything goes perfectly together (menu, sounds, themes, etc). Well done!

One of the worst phone on the market! It heats up badly, not so user friendly as others thought, those fonts are too small for comfortable reading & the reception is very weak!!!

this is an upgrade to the 8800s. its just that nokia decided to make it cheaper by a couple of hundred. Ive had the 8800, then the 8800s and now this luna and the luna is actually a better phone, the screen is quality and its now possible to txt with the bigger buttons. It feels better aswell to hold. And the light effects when closed is just cool, pointless but very cool. The battery life is a lot better aswell

I recerived my luna today. Have any of you guys experienced problems concirning the sound? It sounds lake crap, the sound of the tunes is very, very bad (it sounds as the speaker is broken)...it has to be something wrong whith this phone, not with every luna existing on the market.
I have sent it back and now i'm waiting for an other one...hopefully i won't have the same problem...
