However, I have to say Nokia 8800 Sirocco was made with a very high quility of materials. It has been no scratch either front or back. I had Nokia 8800 Sirocco 10 out of 10 for that.

If you want to buy 8600 Luna because of it looks great and it is for fashion and design, then you are on the right track. If you like a good advanced functionable phone, then many others have more to offer. Good luck, guys!!!

FAB phone and I got it in days of it being released....and for all those who are moaning about it.... STOP...its pointless; people who want or have this phone don’t want it for its camera, its memory but for its WOW factor. Just accept that not all phones are about carrying around your PC, why can't phones be a fashion accessory…I’ve waited a long time for something special and now its arrived... at last :)

when nokia decide to announce this phone, they have their own marketing planning and targets, when u don't like it , it means u r not wat they r targeting, ppl buying is because every1 have their own taste and spendings limit , so ppl who get this fone is not stupid . ppl can spend thousands of dollar on watches and diamonds is because of style and taste.$1k is ntg

With so many bad/good/average reviews, keep one thing in mind everyone:

Absolutely nothing can be perfect in this world, so why would one expect a perfect phone to exist!!!!! duhhhhh

i Held it in my hand and it is luxurious
but i was thick, the 6300 is considered better since it is thinner

when i saw this phone i thought wow nice. glass and metal. features were average. then i saw the price tag.

wow. its not even worth it. for that price i dont care. its junk to me now. and if anyone buys it for what $800-1000 USD. your insane! and just plain retarted. i think the lg shine is better than this phone.

With such a size, Nokia could've improved on what they put into this. But it looks ok, myself, I'd go for the RAZR2 for the design race.

But if it's quicker without all the features of the lowest N series, then I guess it's an ok design phone too. Prefer it if it were loaded to some MORE of an extent.

Okay, heres the lowdown - honestly, this phone is a bit pants. I got mine today, and have got to say that i am hugely disappointed. I have had, in order - an n70, an n73, a 6300, an n95 and now this 8600. So i can make a pretty informed judgement.
1st - Dont try comparing this to the Nseries. Completely different class of phone. Full Stop.
2nd - Do NOT buy this handset. Why? Buy the 6300 and save a huge amount of money. Its the same phone, only less likely to break, and easier to use. I have never been fond of slide handsets, and this is no exception. Drop it , and it WILL break. Guaranteed. Moreso than the 6300 - I dropped mine onto tarmac and it came off pretty good - only 1 small dent, hardly noticeable - I dread to think what would happen if i did the same to my luna.
Also, its just not at all comfortable to use, at least not compared to the 6300. The lower part of the keypad isn't easily accessable, and there's no quick shortcut to the profile menu, unlike the 6300.

                                  Summary -
                                  6300 8600
                                  expandable fixed 128
easy to use not so easy
robust dread to think about it

(in the 8600's defence though, it does have a slightly better camera and is about 50% quicker.

This Phone Look's Better but 3230 has the Feautures

i Still Think 8800 Sirocco is BEST !!

Moominneo, your point taken. I agree with you about Nokia phones or the 8xxx series and the N series anyway. I have the N80 and the last i had a Nokia before that was the Nokia Orange phone back in 1996/7.
I think they are way over rated by Nokia lovers and they seem to out number Sony Ericsson lovers maybe because Nokia as a brand was here earlier but doesn't mean that their products are well advanced. In fact i think Nokia take the inside of existing phones and just make a new cover there by calling it a new phone. What is is about their naming schemes anyway???
