the bottom line to this phone, is that the design and the pop up mechanism make it so different to the other phone in the market, i agree with Dan why ppl always complanning that the phone is expensive, is to differenate itself from other phone, and why does is have sh1t feature, well because it not design for a phone to play about, strickly a classy, fashionable phone to dial with.

Can people please stop asking why this phone is so expensive.

It is expensive purely because its intended target group are the upper class. This phone is not intended to be a common phone like your Samsung D500.

The phone is fantastic - just come out in the Uk and appearance and ergonomics are beautiful. ok is a blatant case of function follows form but who cares? it looks good and does the job.
the camera and video are much better quality than I expected - its only 0.5megapixel but the fact that it is SVGA means that it appears better than some higher resolution alternatives e.g. ericsson s700i and p910i. mine was free on an upgrade so cant even moan about the price!

this is the best phone (for me, at least), and i'll explain why. firstly i need to start using nokia again after having used qutie a few brands and feeling that the software speed and user interface never quite matched nokia (and in motorola's case it was ridiculously slow). also, i've used smartphones, imaging phones etc and i'm now after a phone which is still "cool" but doesn't boast all these technological features as its main selling point. with so many 6*** phones being nothing more than clones of each other, this is the only nokia which stands out from the rest. its got its distinctive place within the 8*** family (of which there have only ever been around 11 mainstream handsets). the solid build of the phone should mean that it doesn't start falling apart after a few weeks or normal use (like my motorola v80), and just like a piece of jewellery can hopefully be kept for YEARS to come.

Mono ringtone & not loud enough.
                  Very short battery life.
Worst thing is the speaker volume way too quiet (even more quiet than the Motorola V3).

I think if it being targeted to the business community it should be a success. Got mine last week and I am reasonably happy with it although I think the 6230i is a better alround phone. The 8800 looks very classy and I hope it will stand up to a few falls and knocks etc,. The fingerprint thing is a bit of a nuisance ok and it is slightly on the heavy side but in saying that I still think women will love it because it is elegant and expensive so its the perfect present for your special lady. Overall I would give it 8 out of 10 with the 6230i being a 10. If you can afford it .. buy it.!

Nice phone but very expensive. Its about RM3+++ over here.
The price is expected to decrease but not as much as other nokia phones.

Like all 8 series, the price decreases in a long time.
But the phone is a lovely thing

I am waiting for this phone to be delivered to me from O2 online. Ordered it over 10 days ago and they just keep pushing back the dates.

What is the ring tone quality like when playing mp3's? Is it loud enough? I think that seeing as this phone is not packed with features and is more a fashion phone, it is important that the ring tone quality is ace.

not worth the $. think about it carefully. if u wan something different, go and modify your phone casing.

Personally i think is not a business phone, who fancy it buy it.
people already knows that this phone don't have much feather by reading the review and the spec. At the end of the day the people who buy it like it for the design ONLY. The phone really not expensive, there are more expensive phone that you can get. it just another fashion statment!

It's a good phoney phone, depends what u want to use for it. For my opinion it's a cool phone. Not for showing off but for business. It has a good design but the steel on it makes it heavy. To bad are the flat tones. wtf, they are mono instead of stereo. But like i said, it's not a phone for multi functional. More for business. And the price is pretty high but the ones who have money and like it can buy them. I bought one in Hong Kong.
Just got to say, you like business phones??
This is a pretty good one for it.

I have been after 8800 for time, and now got it, im well happy with it, its classy, got the features, the downside is its a bit heavy and you have to always clear down the finger marks, otherwise great phone.

we are giving our opinion to this phone (Donald Trump) not your life and wealth OK!

if you so rich and don't like this phone why bother to even go on to this website and input ur view to it, but what is worst u didn't give a opinion at all, people say this phone is to show off, but on the other hand u r showing off urself. u got to understand this page is a review and opinion on this phone only not ur life story...

Listen people!!! evre1 is sayin that this phone has no features if u look at the spec u will say that it has evre feature apart from 3g. fair play it doesnt have a mp camera but the quality is still excelent. how may people actually transf photos/videos to their pc?? A-the minority!!!!
