I wonder when its gonna release to the market, now i'm waiting for this phone and I'm comparing it with Moto V3 Black color, but because of it low internal memory on 5mb and for stadard use nokia is much more popular than Moto, forexample, if i forgot my charger i could ask any body in my office to borrow it. However, Any body know exact date when its gonna release in Asian market?? I heard from my freind who is a nokia specialist in Thailand that is will be release in this month may be This week.. but he can't confirm with it yet.. I already have O2mini but i need another phone.
Does anybody knows when is gonna come out?
And which one is better between V3 and 8800 ?

To paul s:
I TOTALLY agree with you on the megapixel issue, it does not make sense to put in higher resolution with this size of lenses and receptors. This is pure standard physics/optics.

this is a superb phone...as soon as i got it i played with it all night and it never left my side.even now i wont let anyone touch it. i love its slide action, it slips in and out of its pocket to great effect. if a phone could be a women this would be it, id marry it!

I read in a magazine that this was supposed to be a smartphone, is that true? I don't see Symbinan OS specified.

there's a lot of uninformed people here. first off, this is the same size as the 8890... how could anyone say it was too big? yes, it's heavy, especially compared to the v3 i guess, but that's becuase it using thick metal and glass. the camera is really good. it maybe not be megapixel, but the contrast of the images is great. i'm tired of manufactureres touting megapixles - why do i want more pixels that are filled with weak contrast and noise?
it makes a nice noticalbe one of a kind sound when you close it to... nice metallic ring. if you want to be noticed, this phone will get you noticed. also, the top sliding is a much nicer action then the older pull the cover down of the legacy premium phones.
of course it has voice dialing and a backlit keymat. what phone doesn't? why does that even need to be listed as a feature.
it would be nice if more people who have actually used this phone posted, and those who just imagine it don't.

I have owned previous 8xxx series phones, 8850, 8910 and currently own 8910i. Have been waiting to see new model. Seems strange that the 8910i is made from Titanium and the 8800 is made of steel...? also first offline sim free prices are around the £700 UK pounds mark. Little steep i think. 8910i was around £500 when it first came out.

I think this phone should be black. the 8890,8910i phones were great from NOkia, albiet the 8910i should have been tri/quadra band. Who really cares about using silly ring tone jingles, taking shotty quality pics, or using your phone as an mp3 player anyways? I think this phone is good, but it could have been better. I'm waiting for nokia to re-release something for mature adults who want style, ..a phone with secret agent styling that nokia was good at a few years ago.

I wish Nokia will get their act together. I was hoping this one will b like the 8890 BUT in color. 8890 was a wonderful tool and great looking, really classy; this one? to BIG, I can do without the camera THE QUALITY PICTURES R NOT THERE ANYWAY.
NOKIA PUT A COLOR SCREEN TO THE 8890!!!
