can anyone tell me whether sirocco 8800's battery (BL-6X) can be used in 8800's (BL-5X) phone? as far as i know, the BL-6X battery is thicker than BL-5X.

I bought this phone in anticipation of owning the best phone on the market (with the price and everything). However, I was extremely dissapointed. The battery last for lest than a day. Talk time was about 1 hour. Every so often, the phone would freeze or restart all by itself. No expandable memory card slot. POOR camera option. For the price and phone feature, it would be like paying for a Lorenzo and getting a Toyota. Worst PHONE I had ever own. But I'm still sticking with NOKIA. I now have the N91. Let's see how it goes with this one.

I just bought a Black Nokia 8800. I always have short battery life. But knowing this fact prior to my purchase it really isn't a issue. But heres the thing every time I am holding my phone when its charging, the touch pad (the thing that controls the mouse on a laptop) wouldn't work. Could it be that there something wrong with this OEM charger that I bought from a local phone store?

your totally right. whats the point having a phone that lasts for an hour. anyone who says this phone is good is just trying to justify the amount of money they spent on an awful phone.

if you wat a piece of metal that allows you to talk for maybe an hour, then buy this..nokia had great intentions with this phone, but the result is the total opposite. Buy it if your not going to call anyone or use the phone, its just for looks.

i have this phone for more than a year. I always love and apppreciate it. Although not as functional as other cheaper models, I have it because my intention is to use only for voice call, mms and sms. Thats all I need. If I want more function I would buy N series instead. Charging the phone everynight is not a big issue to me, I`ve got time to do that..

How many times i have to say this?
If you like a phone packed with feature, this phone is not for you.
Dont you even know what you're buying?
At least read what are the phone feature before you buy it.
Not buy it, use it, then complain that it has no feature!

i have a nokia 8800 for 2 weeks now and am so frustrated with it. its battery life is shocking and has no features worth talking about. im going back to my sony ericsson w810i which i should have stayed with in the first place. avoid 8800 at all costs.

Many of my others phone have that problem, when you wiggle the cord, it starts charging, which is another symptom indicate that the problem is from the charging port in the phone.
So just wait for the charger to come and try it, just to be sure, then if it is not working, they just bring it to nokia, they just have to replace the port, nothing big so it shouldnt cost much

The thing is, I've heard there are some problems with the dock. So I actually just ordered a extra dock and wall charger from eBay for cheap. The other thing is, don't get me wrong from my post prior to this one. The wall charger does charge, its just that it has to be on a flat surface, or it would stop charging. But once I wiggle the cord around it would begin to charge again. Do you think it could be a problem with the phone itself? I might want to add I am using the charger and dock that came with the phone, and I also live in the U.S would voltage be of any concern?

The problem sound it is fron the phone charing port, not the charger, bring it to nokia to have them look at it

Is it me or does the desk charger doesn't work unless the spare battery is in? Because when my spare battery isn't in there my phone just keep saying "Not Charging." And also I have some issue with the wall charger too, it sometimes stop charging, then it would all of a sudden again. Thus showering the "Charging" logo every 5 minutes. I was wondering because I bought the phone online, would it be that I live in America and the output or what not is different? Can this be a factor?

Having just read some of the comments about poor battery life & the quietness of this phone i'm quite suprised. I've had mine well over a year, only ever used one of the (2) supplied batteries and still get 3 days life from it. As for the quietness mine had never been quiet and is in fact as loud as every other phone (and thats a lot) I have owned. This phone has proved to be the most reliable and best performing of all i've had. Its easy to use & i'm not interested in extra fancy gadgets, I want a phone to be just that, a phone. It still looks almost new & continues to perform well. To those that rubbish it, fair enough you may want extra goodies such as huge memories & excellent cameras but this phone was never designed to give those so get over it & buy something you will be happier with. Its a fantastic phone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion & you just had mine.

well just love it because it is a luxury and not common. the camera of course is not clear and am not particular about that also the tones ain t loud but guess wot at my age i always put my phone on vibration wc is gud enough for me. in uk today a new one is £350 and for fairly used £170. it is good for me and meet my requirement for now. the only advice i have nokia should compensate all users if they can am a club member anyway.cheers!!
