All i can say about this handset, is that it is a piece of crap. I had a customer who bought the handset, and he was back the next day cause it kept on switching its self off. The only reason people want to pay so much is because of the way it looks. Which is a bit shallow if you ask me.

It's a very good phone. A friend told me to buy it from www.jetixtech.com . I can say that we're both very pleased. Good phone, great price. I hope I don't lose it like I lost my last phone.

Response to Tony----the 8801 is a US only version and the 8800 (silver) is sold worldwide. The black version is only available in Russian market from what I understand and the only gold one I've seen is on Ebay and don't know if it was dipped by the seller....I wouldn't trust it and it looks like krap!

I have the 8801 for about 1 week now and have been more than happy. Lots of people like to bad mouth this phone, but is does whats its suppose to....make calls. The battery life is fine. I use the phone anywhere from 1-2hrs a day and have been charging every other day. As far as features...I can care less about cameras, games and all that krap. I need a good phone with good reception and the ability to text message from time to time. I bought this phone purely on style, size and feel. Most of the issues that people have is due to early firmware releases. I know several people that have them with no issues. If you can afford it, BUY IT!

Well, ive have my Nokia 8800 a while now...Its not a brilliant phone...feature wise its abit lacking like other phones in this series BUT
thats not to say it is bad, this phone is for those of you who like flashy slick technology that make other people stare at you while your on the phone.
Now after all that, I have just encountered the following mechanical problem.
The slide mechanism for my 8800 has jammed. The top half of my phone can be depressed but it seems as though a spring might have gone or an accumulation of dust has caused increased resistance. Proof again, that the more moving parts there are on a phone.....the greater the chance of breakage.
Nice phone, but for a top of the range nokia.....it shouldnt break after 3 months.
Thanks Nokia....

This Phone realy not worth it. We had this phone repaired by Nokia 4 times so far and last week again the Battery drained. What a joke. Even Nokia people say that they can not cope with the return rate for this phone. Nokia needs to rewamp their R&D.

It is really elegant and exclusive phone! High mark for the design. Moderate mark for its features.
Warning!
Not suitable for people who can only call and text.
Not designed for 3G.

you should by this phone because you want it who cares about other problems if they had enough brains they would go and get it replaced and that kinda stuff...the reason y something isnt so good is because they haven't gotten the lates firmware my dads business partner has this phone and it looks great, it feel great and it calls and texts and thats what you want isnt it, also it has a camera and no doubt abit of mp3 so if you were looking at this phone get it dont change your mind i was lucky not to make that mistake i wanted an SE k750i but the w810 was due to come soon but i got the k750i and i am really glad because the w810 was going to be way over priced and dealers dont recomend them because of so many faults in the phone. that is my story i reckon you should get what YOU like not what other people think

you dont want people to buy it because you dont look so bad not having one.
this phone is really great i charge it daily so it no problem for me and plus you have a great rich feeling hold it dont take my word for it go check a dealer out hold it in your own hands to see how it feels like. only problem about this phone shutting off is that if you use it constantly... of course its in stainless steel. go check it out for youself to see how it feels like.

Once again you are trying pointlessly to mention or say something.
I don't want to get down to your level.
To me you are nothing but immature person who has nothing to do but roams around to websites and having useless dialogues with others.Dialogues without a reason and purpose.Like dialogues of little kids.
I doubt that you have ever owned Nokia 8800 because you would have already know that this phone has low voice clarity, poor battery life, functionality, performance and a lot more other software problems.
As for me YES i owned a 8800. I have used a wide range of phones and was an owner of all exclusive and high end/expensive mobile phones from Nokia product line(8850,8910,8910i,8800),and YES i have much more knowledge on mobile phones than you have or dream to have. You wish to own and use them like i do.
You and Lee are the 2% percent of people posting here that are satisfied.See only the low voting results going day by day down and get your own conclusion.
So give us (and someone else) a rest and don't busy youself and dabble with me.
