i've had my nokia 8800 for 3months and relized that it's the worst fone ever. The fone constantly freezes, switches off and drops calls like crazy. My advice stay away and don't let the brilliant look catch ur attention!!

it is for people who dont want to have the same phone as everybody else and are willing to pay more. They did the same with an expensive titanium version of that really small nokia phone/

This phone has plenty of decent features. Not as many or perhaps as good as other phones currently available, but it is has such quality build and a reassuring weight to it. It feels as though it's been hand crafted rather than churned out of a factory. I'm actually down-grading in terms of spec (currently own a Samsung SGH-E730), to this model because I've realised I don't use many of my phone's features to their full extent, if at all; features that so many people seem to crave/demand from mobiles these days. I guess as I get older I'd much prefer a good solid well made handset and not a plastic, function overloaded; under-used model. Plus, this phone will retain it's value for months to come.

dragon8boy u have the 8800 without the wax on the side of the slide so it grinds roughly i can produce friction and might damage the side slide of your 8800 better you report your 8800 to nokia ASAP

Well maybe for N8800 it is normal to last the nokia logo for 10-15 sec but in all other nokia phones as you might notics that it only stay there for a couple of sec.

I had this phone for about 2 weeks not and very pleased with it. Battery life is normal .. on occasional use, it lasts for 3-4 days. Like said previously, if I keep on fiddling with the wallz, mp3's etc .. then it'll need recharging within a day.
Just a q, when starting the phone up after you put your pin number in, it shows the Nokia logo with the hands. How long does that screen normally stay there before it "boots up"? Cause I've noticed that when I switch on, it stays on that screen for about 10 to 15 seconds before it goes in?
Is this normal?
