Hi Cme..How are you doing? Okay, i have the firmware version of 3.28 and i believe that its really old. I dont have any problems at all except yesterday, it switchs off by itself, only once. I was wondering if i could get the update of latest firmware if i bought the phone in UK then? Im currently staying in Canada. Can i just ask Nokia Canada to fix it? Do we have to show our proof of purchase of the phone? Thx for the help..

I believe you must ring Nokia customer services and ask for a latest Firmware if available.

Nowadays every phone in the market has 2 years warranty even if the phone is an ordinary, faulty, not worhy expensive phone like this one.Two years warranty are not enough and don't help this phone situation.

Hi. I just bought this phone. It looks awesome. However the keypad is not as good as some of the other nokia's and also it switches off everytime u go to the IM or instant message function.Well however the phone is overall ok.

            hello folks,
i have had this phone for 2 months and am disappointed with it. The phone turns off each time i go into instant messager (IM) and also randomly turns off when i go into the other menu's such as call register, messages etc.
the main body of the phone looks great but what a disappointment............
what shall i do, I've already had one replacement from Voda?

I agree with the most negative reviews on this phone.Surely this phone has low battery life, functionality and performance.
As for the fanatics owners of this phone they should be real, see 8800 problems and not praise this phone without a reason to do so.

The time you said (2-3days) is a stand by time mate ;-) can't be 70-96 hours talk time in a single charge, isn't it???

I'm sure you need to improve ur reading skills, I said I've used my 6610i for 150+ hours in last one and half year as talk time NOT IN A 1/2/3 DAYS,

I got this phone 4 months ago after waiting and waiting for it to be released! It is an awesome phone, does everything you could possibly need to do on a real mobile and looks/feels better than any phone that has been released!!

Although, both batterys that you get with the phone last about 6 hours, on a standard days usage. Often, the battery indicator would drop from 5 bars to 1 to none, within the space of 60 seconds of a call.

I'm sorry, however much i like it and love the style, it is not reliable enough to use as a real 'mobile' phone should. I have had my network provider collect it today and exchange it for an N70.

                        To C Me

I am an owner of Nokia 6610i too.The battery of this phone goes maximum 3-4 days. That means 72 - 96 hours talktime not 150+ hours as you false stated.Even SE k750i doen't last so much.Maybe your phone is from another planet and yes the battery problem is a very significant issue for every phone, especially if this phone is an expensive one such as Nokia 8800.

                          To Promethues

For me 8800 weight is not such significant as other problems this phone has but because i mentioned that in my previous post i would like to sort it out.Nokia 8800 has stainless steel body case that's why is heavy. As for 8910 to 8800 weight issue 8910 is much lighter not only in grams but in the sense you have when you hold it and as i stated before 8910 is indeed light as a feather.I agree that Nokia 8910 is 110 g (battery included) but that doen't mean is heavy. This occurs to its construction made by titanium which is the most lightest, strongest and solid metal even from a steel.Titanium is the only metal with these characteristics. If you don't believe that grab a 8910 and 8800 and see the difference by yourself and then talk.

Paul, We love this phone and we don't mind buying it. how many of us own it, doesn't matter to us. And regarding the exclusive issue, it don't bother me. I don't really care about it. To me, I think its a cheaply priced phone compared to vertu. Come mon, you guys get to buy 8801 and its like so much cheaper than 8800. I don't know whats the complain about price and exclusivity. If you like it, get it. You know it will never end up like el cheapo V3.

I believe the battery is not an issue ppl are just being stereo-type, what they heard just said, I've my 6610i over the last one & half year and I used it for 150+ hours as my talk time, its battery just giving me abt 2h as it was on very first day. My other hand set is 6630 and its battery is offering my same period of talk time and this hand sat I just bought a month before, so the mean to say is in 8800 the battery is not always the issue and I think the hand set is offering right amount of talk time, plz don't follow the gossips just give it a try!
