i agree with that. By the way, im not experiencing any bugs or problems whatsoever with the phone. Using it for months now and it never turned off by itself. *Love my 8800 so much*

Althought the Nokia 8800 Series have minor bugs that couldn't be fixed. I still believe it's one of the most elegant phone out there and classic as best. I have tried many different phones this year and I think this is still the best one out there.

They won't upgrade the firmware and return the phone to you. They would just replace it and send you a brand new or recondition phone with the updated firmware.

You should get th replacement in 2 days with return box for your phone. I hope this help!!!!

ive had this phone since september. the one major issue with this is the battery life, it has to be charged daily with talking for about an hour, hour and half. aside from that and the ludicrous sim insertion, this has proven to be a great little phone. i have no scratches on the screen, the keys are as new, the ejection, retraction mechanism works as new, the ONLY scratch on the casing is a lil mark from when i dropped it. the mark is about 1/2 of a mm and is practically invisible. the casing really is high quality. i dont use a case for this but i dont usually carry any metallic objects in the same place with it.

all in all, bar the battery life being quite poor, no problems with it at all.

To find out the Firmware on your phone.

dial *#0000# on the main screen. This trick applies to all GSM models since the Nokia 6110.

i bought mine for 925 euros. i am so dissapointed. i have to charge it at least 3-4 times on average, per working day. nothing fancy, except the looks are no doubt superior. lacks many basic functions.i have been trying to down load something even with the bluetooth, but it takes ages.over all it was my 2nd nokia phone after years of using sony erricsson. i am selling it for 500euro & buying S700 i.

This phone should at least have an adequate performance and not an exceeding price over features.

                          Very disappointed from this phone.
Especially from Nokia which shows that day by day loses ground in mobile market.
Nokia 8910 is much-much better from this phone 8800 and at least worth the try and it's money.

A very elegant phone at the same time, its cool. Juat got it a few weeks ago and the girls are already flipping when they see it. The only draw back is, it keeps turning off and on as it likes. I guess the Nokia guy wasn't lying when he said it was the software problem, cause I can see that alot of other people also have the same problem with the 8800. cheers, Arthur.

You know what? All new phones, if you use it for the first time, it will surely malfunctioning coz it is new, right? Like my 6630 and n90, when I first turned it on, after a few hours, they restart suddenly, and the ringtones (built-in) are cut and cannot be played whole. But after a day, they come to normal. well, as a matter of fact... your phone is in good condition. Just wait for the phone to be opened in such environment first (using your phone)
